Moderators Faq On Mycent, Credit System V3 And Forum Moderating

BuffaloHelp

Is there a way to "restrict" spam posts from earning mycent. If I delete a post, does mycent gets deducted? Is that another reason for delay in earnings?

myCENT gets deducted. -> TRUE.

I think not letting members to earn myCENT for warning level is a good idea. But do I understand it correctly that it's just myCENT not converting to Account Credit Balance?

If so, a member can earn $1000 mycent and as soon as the warning is lowered $10 will be deposited to ACB?

This is also TRUE.

So until the user has warning more than level 1 (i.e. 2 or more), myCENT will not be converted but keeps earning them.

Until a moderator deletes his stuff and approves him back by lowering his warn, the funds will remain stuck.

As soon as mod removes the warn level, the user gets the credits. Because of this, I openly urge moderators to BAN users for 2 days, 1 week and even 1 month. This give enough time for myCENT to reflect the actual earnings from "proper" posts.

What's happening to MANAGE page?

to be answered

Is there an indication who is hosting and who is not?

Yes. And no. Anyone who has registered with Billing and Support will have Earned and myCENT indication under their forum identification. This only tells us that they have registered with Billing and Support but not necessary a hosting member. But since the introduction of Credit System v3 this forum will not solely support hosting members but all Xisto members. We're going back to the root and focusing on the forum management instead of hosting member supports. All hosting supports are to be directed to Xisto Supports, unless we can solve the issue using our forum.

Can a person have multiple forum accounts?

In the past a person could have multiple forum accounts as long as only one of them were used to request for hosting account. We were double checking to see if the IP was originating from the right source and not via proxy server. This was an attempt at stopping a person from having multiple free hosting accounts.

Since the Credit System v3, we do not need to worry about this issue. OpaQue made the system to be email oriented. And since the forum will not allow the same email to be used more than once we do not need to worry about multiple hosting account holders. It would be time consuming to have multiple forum accounts to earn myCENT just to find out not all can be merged into once Billing and Support account.

So what will happen to credit transfers? Will there be myCENT transfers?

When wanting to keep previous hosting and migrate to Logic Plan, in notes section does there require a specific syntax for providing username and password?

[tab][/tab]- inspired by the following "syntax:" "Delete My Old Xisto/Xisto Account, I understand that this will cause all my data to be erased from the Server Permanently."

Now that the new system is in place, when submitting support tickets has the Xisto - Support option become obsolete or irrelevant?

As I'm unsure only OpaQue can answer that.

Submitting support ticket through Xisto - Support.com/billing will be the main contact with anything hosting account and billing questions.

However, if member posts in our forum either we will try to work the problem or give the advice of "contact or submit support ticket" if it's too big of a problem.

The focus from Xisto being the first and sometimes the only form of support on hosting account has shifted to moderating posts and taking care of the forum for moderators and administrators. I no longer have to spend majority of my logged in hours just to solve a hosting issue. I can comb through topics and moderate them as well. And moderators no longer need to contact me for advance hosting support. Moderators now can instruct new hosting account activation and direct members to Xisto - Support.

Trap17 Support -> Put issues which have things to do with MyCENTS/forumCh-Support -> Pure Hosting Queries.Support team does not have much idea about myCENTS. So, please use Xisto Forum for issues connecting to forum and myCents.

No Hard Syntax. As long as my team understands that you already have an account and they can verify the details using the cpanel username/password, simple English will work good

Do members still need to use the hosting application to apply for hosting now that the new system is up, or just sign up to Xisto Billing & Support Area and post a few? I'm seeing some members do both.

jlhaslip

The Hosting Applications are no longer used. When a Member posts there, use the Multi-Mod Drop-down to select the Application Reply. It points them to the Billing Method for Free Web Hosting.

Will members who's forum name is maroon in color be reverted back to black at any point?

If you are talking about hosted member group, then I presently do not have any special plans for it. Any suggestions?

there is a special connection hosted members have for such "labeling". makes one feel PROUD to be part of an "elite group". a badge of distinction! i would hope it does not get removed. if ever, i should say we should enhance it some more.
we could keep the maroon for hosted members still on gamma servers... which would advise us on who we should be prompting to transfer their hosting using mycents.

then, we can create a special color for hosted members using mycents. in here, we can make subcategories to make it more special. like one color for those on an annual billing cycle... and another color for one on a monthly billing cycle. we could use a "$" (dollar sign) for mycents-powered members. we could also add a "+" (plus sign) for those who bought domains via xistodomains and other miscellaneous services.

i dunno, i'm just running ideas in my head. more work for opaque though.

That was basically my reason for asking. Since the new myCENTs system can't (currently) detect if someone is hosted or not, to me it seems slightly unfair that others have that status but new members. The only way i see that new members can have the status too is if those who approve of the person's order places them under that group. But that i would say is unnecessary work on their part, unless the script that is ran does it for them.

I think members may see that as an invasion of privacy on some level. But it may also be taken as, "Look! I have more stuff than you! :D" So if such a thing were to be implemented, i would suggest to allow an option for turning those symbols off in case the member doesn't want them to be shown.

I do believe it is very difficult for Billing database to sync with forum database. The reason why if you purchased something you still see the total myEarning rather than the current balance after the purchase. So the sync is currently available via one way: Forum --> Billing. We've been experiencing IPS driver issues (database crash) and it's due to the new forum upgrade. OpaQue told me that the resource usage for this forum is considerably higher than the previous versions. And he cannot figure out why. So until OpaQue pin points the trouble, your suggestion on identifying hosting members with Credit System v3 would have to be sitting at the back burner. It would be nice because we can help that member precisely. Other than that it's purely antithetical.
