Xisto Shopping Cart Pricing and Configuration Options

serverph

MYSQL:

there are rumblings in the shoutbox by one member earlier about the option for mysql, having been disappointed of sorts with the selection we have on the xisto shopping cart.

default logic plan carries ZERO mysql, and i could understand the slight disappointment of the member because we are used to offering a bundle of them a while back, a feature that is somehow a basic necessity for running websites especially CMS and galleries, etc. the next selection in the mysql dropdown option is 5 for $0.49 USD.

i somehow understand these available options too from the business point of view of xisto. i would like to make a suggestion however, to either make additional mysql options lesser than 5 (who would just need one, for example), or create a TOKEN default option of 1 mysql (instead of none) like that in addon/parked domains options as part of the Linux Regular Hosting - Logic Plan.

maybe a compromise, although i've been trying to placate the misgivings of that member in the shoutbox to view the mycents system from a monthly/annual point of view as compared to the daily perspective of the credit system version 2. they seem too hard on swallowing the concept of "paying" for their hosting with their mycents, especially when they compute the prices in their head. i just asked the member to divide the amount total in their shopping cart by 30 (days) to see how mycents compare to the old credit system, just to condition his mind into thinking how low the prices really are, and how better mycents would be.

DISKSPACE and BANDWIDTH:

default DISKSPACE selection seems to be 5000MB - $0.99 USD when there is a lower option (1000MB, what is advertised to be the default). default BANDWIDTH selection seems to be 50000MB - $0.99 USD when there is a lower option (10000MB, what is advertised to be the default). people will tend to get dismayed if they see that instead of the $0.99 per month they are supposed to pay, they get triple that amount because the prices of the second highest options for bandwidth and diskspace are what's computed, instead of just the supposed default option for these (the lowest 1GB/space and 10GB/bandwidth). i sure have been confused myself earlier when i'm testing the shopping cart when i imagined i got a bloated pricing discrepancy with a default logic plan with no changes whatsoever.

feedbacks?

BuffaloHelp

I agree on how Logic Plan fails to be logical :)I think it initially offers too little. In fact I think the default plan should be SET and give options to increase. The default plan starts with:500mb space5 GB bandwidth5 SQL1 Add-on5 Parkedand the rest of cpanel, fantastico...etcAnd then allow a member to increase the space, bandwidth, SQL, addon and parking later or at the time of order. Start the plan with $2.00 per month, forcing members to post bit more before going ahead to order. But how would a member quickly gain $2.00 with just a mere 5 minimum required posts? How about giving a bonus of $1.50 Account Credit Balance when initially signing up with Billing and Support? Then earning $0.50 will be a cinch!

jlhaslip

I feel that the Basic Package should include 1 Mysql Database. Without the Mysql, many scripts will not be available, so you might as well fold up the fantastico feature.

OpaQue

The default plan starts with:

500mb space

5 GB bandwidth

5 SQL

1 Add-on

5 Parked

and the rest of cpanel, fantastico...etc

Then the price would fail to be set at $0.99 per month.

Will a $2.99 sound good?

LOGIC change.

1000 MB SPACE

10000MB BANDWIDTH

MySQL Databases : 1

Addon Domains : 1

Sub domains : 5

Parked Domains : 5

with 1 FTP account.

E-Mail Soln. (Yearly Only) : We prefer Google App Service otherwise our prices are presently on a Yearly Package. However a forwarding option for your subdomain.maindomain.com will be given.

Price per Month: $1.99

Price per Year : $19.19

I hope the above package is much more user-friendly and will give higher satisfaction for the buyer

rvalkass

I still haven't bought my hosting package yet, and for the following reason:

Compare the current Xisto package, and the closest match I could find by configuring the Logic plan:

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Forgive me if I am wrong, but that seems a sharp leap, especially considering I only have $70 so far. It is also very hard to predict what package to get when I am not quite sure how quickly I can earn myCENTs. I don't want to get into a package I can't keep up with.

I am sure it has all been worked out, and that I am missing something glaringly obvious, but I just can't figure this out right now

Also, I think the page is confusing regarding email accounts. It appears the only free options are to have Google Apps (no good if you're using a subdomain) or to forward mail to another account. The other options shown appear to be for use with Blackberry devices? I think it needs to be made clearer exactly what we get for our emails, and what the other options are.

OpaQue

If you have a domain, there is no need to buy Corporate Mail Hosting.
About the mail hosting, you can find more information over here:-

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Features of Mail Hosting in Detail : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

RECOMMENDED Option : Mail Hosting by Google. (Well, this company is offering advanced stuff for free, logically this is what you should be having..)

OpaQue

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I got some good points. I made some changes.. Please try running the order again. It should now come to : $81.85 USD
Which means. Earning about $7 a month.

BuffaloHelp

Try saving Credit Update email from Xisto. For this trial week I received 4 emails stating that I've earned $4. This is from replying this and that topics. Some replies were long but mostly they were quick posts like this one.If I can earn $4 per week, managing $7 a month would be achievable especially when OpaQue turns on moderator's earning multiplier.I suggest moderators to consider getting Freedom Plan basic: OpaQue wants you to have your domain name because it's better for Billing and Support. For about $80 a year you get a domain name plus hosting. Only OpaQue would tell me it's going to be available through Billing and Support or not! *hint hint*

LOGIC CHANGE

Price per Month: $1.99

Price per Year : $19.19

I hope the above package is much more user-friendly and will give higher satisfaction for the buyer.

i see now the changes with the inclusion of 1 mysql as part of the package. thanks for the consideration opaque! members will now have less to grumble about. with the change in price on the shopping cart, maybe it would be good to make the changes appear on Xisto - Web Hosting.com pages too. (i assume of course that since we use the same cart, that we have the same packages offered as in Xisto - Web Hosting too).

I suggest moderators to consider getting Freedom Plan basic

do we have the same selections for all in the shopping cart? i can't seem to find the freedom plan anywhere in the choices found in the order page. is it known by any other name that i'm not aware of? what i have on the dropdown are the following:

* Linux Regular Hosting - Logic Plan, Ideal Plan

* Windows Hosting - WPA, WPB, WPC

* Virtual Private Servers - Cpanel VPS License, VPS1 Budget, VPS2 Regular, VPS3 Advanced, VPS4 EXTREME

* Reseller Hosting - Plan AR, Plan BR, Plan CR

* Dedicated Servers - LOGICBOX, Dedicated IP(s)

* Misc - Domain Registration, Xisto Credits, Xisto Credits, Thawte SSL Certificate

* Product Addons

I can then choose to go with Plan 3S (use the pull down menu to select Shared Plan) and pay $33.33 for 1 year hosting.

also mentioned by BH on another thread is the SHARED PLAN. i can't find seen to locate that either.

BuffaloHelp

Yes, as I was hinting to OpaQue, *hint hint* the current purchasing cart does not show Freedom Plans and Shared Hosting Plans. Why? I don't know. I've been pressing the issue and OpaQue's been busy getting the important things done first :PPerhaps those two are only for Xisto - Web Hosting purchase or perhaps it will not be available in the future. I will ask him again until he tells me to, "leave me alone!" LOL No, he would not say that. But I can be pretty annoying if I don't have my answer

serverph

thanks for clearing that up, BH! with these additional selections in the horizon (if ever opaque agrees to make it available), i think i'll be temporarily witholding the purchase of my custom hosting package, until the time opaque has a final say on this and we're forced by circumstance to make the move and choose from the available package choices. maybe we'll get a wider range of choices to by then. and if it's something BH suggests, i would bet it's something to drool about.

please just advise us all when the credit system version 2.0 will kick the bucket formally, to give us time to re-evaluate the packages and purchase hosting using mycents, and finally transfer our existing hosting accounts.

velma

We have disabled Freedom and the regular packages {Plan A, B, C, D and E). Even the premium plans have been disabled. Now, because there are members (paid and free) who do not wish to go through the whole pain of customizing their own Logic Plan I have setup a few plans for hosting which need to be approved by Shree.I am not sure whether we are ever gonna get the freedom plans due to the fast rising prices of the domains And credit system 2.0 will rest in peace only after the forum's version is upgraded. Shree needs to formulate a way to upgrade and disable the credit system without harming the websites already present. The only thing I can recommend is that we start our "mycents campaign" and make sure that every member signs up at Xisto - Support.com/billing and I have asked Shree to remove the hosting features from the manage page to avoid confusion. We need to setup the rules asap and I will be opening a topic containing every single point announced by Shree so that members do not have to run around in search of details....

OpaQue

The price structure at Xisto - Web Hosting.com should aim towards profits of Xisto. the secret is.. "i want to support members to make that same money easily here..". We want to improve servicing as many members as possible and we want to win your testimonials. This will bring in the real customers who will be paying the high prices felt during the customizations of logic plan. Firstly, I urge members to think hard.. "How much do I really need?". I want members to Earn and SAVE the money so that your hosting can go on and on for months and years to come. To make $10-$15 monthly is very easy here. At the same time, any genuine member of Xisto - Web Hosting or Xisto can earn $5 easily a month by really no-forced participation spirit. He basically does not have to pay. In return of this, Both Xisto - Web Hosting & Trap/Asta members will get the same level of Support.Secondly, Please also consider that using the same CREDIT amount, the Domain Registration / Service prices are also to be considered. In this area, there is a negligible earning. A member buying a VPS is not as BIG LOSS as he registering 3-4 domains using the same money. By offering a VPS, we can still cover our costs but when it comes to domains, there is literally no profit to save you.To make this system offer soo many mycents to allow members make $10 a day will really put the company in huge losses. Members are considering 100 add-on domains, 100 SQL which are usually never required. But they fail to notice dedicated IP available for sold @ $2.49. So easy... Dedicated IP hosting for free?Members now also have option to buy Windows Hosting and I m working hard to include JSP, Cold-fusion and more languages so that all can have some learning experience. Managed DNS option available for members can help them create JSP, PHP, Windows, Cold-fusion powered sub-domains all connected to a central database while helping them innovate something really new Besides we are all together here, each of us can work together and use credits collectively to buy different services. With this, I hope to get see good support and marketing for Xisto - Web Hosting. I encourage members to use the REFERRAL/Affiliate system inside Billing to earn more It puts 20% earning straight in your account, on a recurring basis... yes! :PI see the days bright ahead.

BuffaloHelp

Oh C'mon! You can't even do the sweet deals for just mods??? LOL No, I'm just kidding.Of course I knew it would be a different aspect since myCENT is still free and zero profit to Xisto - Web Hosting. But I wanted to know how much of myCENT I should rely and how much of it I should purchase.I can see that myCENT is more for "getting the taste of free web hosting, no ads" where other plans, such as Freedom Plan and other shared plans are for paid hosting accounts. But when I want to purchase another Freedom Plan, where do I go? Right now, unless I'm mistaken, Xisto - Web Hosting purchase goes to Xisto Billing, which is the same login as my Xisto Billing and Support. And as you can see why I was bit confused--I thought all bililngs were tied to one. So naturally I thought I can purchase anything, including Freedom and shared hostings using myCENT.If you can guide how to purchase Freedom Plan with PayPal (not myCENT) that would be helpful.

rvalkass

What I am looking for is to keep the same system I have at the moment. Right now I have a few email accounts set up via cPanel and they use the domains I have purchased. I see no clear option that offers the same thing. The only similar option I can see is the forwarding one, but I prefer having actual accounts to forwarding my mail around the Internet.

I got some good points. I made some changes.. Please try running the order again. It should now come to : $81.85 USDWhich means. Earning about $7 a month.

I get $86.85, which is just over $7 per month. However, with credits, it's $1.67 per month.

365 credits @ $20 = $0.0548 per credit.
For me: 409.72 credits @ $77.35 = $0.189 per credit.
Required ratio for the two to be equal: 4.3425
Actual apparent ratio: 3.45

serverph

@opaque/velma: was the proposition suggested by BH about the bonus $1.50 on the account credit balance upon signup with xisto billing and support been implemented? we may have to account for the sudden jump of the price for the basic logic plan from $0.99 to $1.99 and give members who have signed-up earlier before the increase, like this one, some idea on why this happened.

of course the insider info we have here is the addition of 1 mysql (and 1 + 4 parked domains) [i have a list of the old basic logic plan specs and price], but before we finally give the info out, i would think it sweetens the deal more for them to know that the increase is accompanied by a $1.50 bonus and that it actually is part of the system already.

if there is no actual bonus, members will just have to content themselves with the few changes in the logic plan of course.

BuffaloHelp

rvalkass, it's probably way too late for me to respond but do you want to tie google apps with your domain? You mentioned that you have few email accounts checking via cpanel. But you're worried how that would be if you switch over to google apps? And you know you lost me when you started to calculate ratio... are you stating that you cannot make credits for the plan you want or you are more than able to make credits? Remember that OpaQue has not implemented the mod earning factor. Moderators will earn faster myCENT than regular members. By how much is up to OpaQue.

velma

Buff, send me a ticket and I will setup a custom freedom package for you

rvalkass

rvalkass, it's probably way too late for me to respond but do you want to tie google apps with your domain? You mentioned that you have few email accounts checking via cpanel. But you're worried how that would be if you switch over to google apps?

Yeah. I've never used Google Apps, and I just think we need a bit more information for members (especially existing ones) about where their email accounts have gone, and what options are available. For example, I initially thought I had to pay for an email package, but it looks like that isn't the case.

And you know you lost me when you started to calculate ratio... are you stating that you cannot make credits for the plan you want or you are more than able to make credits? Remember that OpaQue has not implemented the mod earning factor. Moderators will earn faster myCENT than regular members. By how much is up to OpaQue.

That was just me trying to work out some sort of conversion between credits and myCENT.

I took the cost of a years hosting with credits ($20) and the cost of a years equivalent hosting with myCENT ($86.85). That means, for all things to be equal, myCENT should be worth 4.3425 times more than credits. (i.e. a 1 credit post would earn you $0.24)

However, at the moment, it appears that 1 credit equals $0.19. It's only a small shortfall, but it adds up.

If there is a flaw in my math somewhere, or my understanding of the system, please point it out.

OpaQue

@rvalkass: Your Math is correct

@BuffaloHELP: The following packages have been officially discontinued and are no longer available.

Premium Package -> Discontinued.
Freedom Package -> Discontinued.

The Logic Plan is made with a pricing as always which is easy for me to manage and provide a better quality. If this package is customized properly, it will get you what you need in BULK @ cheap rate. Hence, I do not plan to touch the configuration of Logic Plan unless, there is a real good reason to do so.

Upgrading or adding more features is easy and there is the service charge is "free".

If for any reason, you are quite un-decided on what you want and unmetered hosting makes more sense, then you are free to choose Ideal Package.

IDEAL PACKAGE -> Ideal package offers everything Unlimited :-) $11 / month.
