T1lib Support Enabled For Php? [resolved]

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

This script is not working because of the lack of T1Lib support, I think, because that appears to be the only difference between the var_dump on localhost and at the trap server. The script works fine on my Localhost, but fails when uploaded.

Phpinfo says the GD is installed and I tried using the path (/usr) which it indicated, but the script fails with that, too.

What I need most, actually, is the path from my public_html to the TTF or FT fonts directory on the Server, so the script can use the Fonts to create an Image. That information may be sufficient to create the Image and either Font Set is fine.

Thanks.

t1lib is a library written in C which implements functions for

generating bitmaps from Adobe Type 1 fonts. It uses most internal

parts of the Type 1 rasterizer provided with X11R5 and newer but

tries avoid the disadvantages known from that rasterizer.

This is what T1Lib is. Are you sure something made by a company like Adobe which has no way relation to php directly would be included in standard distributions. There are thousands of other modules like this, but only the ones widely used and standard accepted distributions are installed on the server :-)

Opaque,

I only suggested this T1Lib because it appeared to be the difference between the XAMPP set-up on my Localhost and the info I was able to gather from the Xisto server. My understanding is that the Font Type used has something to do with the efforts of Adobe to provide an Open Source Font Type back in the late 80's/early 90's and php does include the capability to use them, but the Xisto server doesn't find any fonts when I run the script found in the link I provided.

What I would like to know is :

How to use some 'typical' fonts like verdana, arial, courier, times, etc when a script calls for them while creating an Image via php functions.

I have a script which generates an array in a select box, then uses the chosen font to create an Image. Finding the Fonts on the Server is the problem, so is there a path to the Font Directory, maybe, that I need to know? I openly admit to being a 'newbie' on this stuff, and have scoured the php Manual for the functions needed, and this Font problem is the last remaining step in the script development.

Thanks for taking the time to check this for me.
