Or rather, my friend does. Where can he purchase tutorial guides or anything of the sort, preferably something that lists all commands.

Maybe buy a book form your local book shop, or go to an e-commerce site...amazon maybe!

What he really needs is recommendations. I'm hoping some experienced users can help out in here.

The best free way,is to check your compiler's .h file.

Or he should go GOOOOOGLING. Google is always there to help in this sort of situation. Tell him to search for the resources in google. He will surely find good ones in there.

Why not get a copy of a book from the author of C++ himself?Stroustrup. See The C++ Programming Language: Special Edition.It's 4 years old, but good reading. It serves as a tutorial andreference I think that should be good for your friend. You canget it at Amazon or Barnes and Nobles.

A book I'd recommend for sure is C++: How to Program by Deitel & Deitel. Excellent guide to learning how to do most things in C++. Also, it contains incredible amounts of function references. Excellent if you're willing to fork out the cash... (I've got it 'cause I had to have it for uni)

Otherwise if you're not willing to pay ... Computer Books ... there's an incredible amount of resources here.

There are some good online books here too.

Google is also a great resource for finding out information...

And... (even though they don't fully conform to the ISO standard) Micro$oft's MSDN has excellent information... not that good for learning, though, better for function references.
