My New Joomla Design Tell me what you think of this web2.0ish design

Recommended Posts

Quite recently, I changed my Student Web Designer site to a new Joomla design that i created. It was quite a lot of work, but I'm pretty happy with it :). Also, you might notice that the URL's are search engine friendly, this was done with the help of the commercial Joomla Component: SEF Advance (Search for it on a search engine for more information).

The homepage (and most of the site) is XHTML valid; I like to adhere to the latest web standards :P.

This design also has some almost 'hidden' features:

Click on the logo for a slide-down menu that lets you chage the color theme of the current template.

You can drag the boxes in the right sidebar, you can chage the order of the boxes.

I used some scriptaculous and some other script for the two features mentioned above.

So, tell me what you think of the design of the website. Any feedback is appreciated. (NOTE: Positive feedback only, negative feedback will be completey ignored :P, just kidding)

The design is great, very professional, and I would like to congratulate you. Just a few little niggling annoyances. Firstly, the black and green bar going across the middle of the screen starts to flicker and look really weird when I scroll. My monitor has quite a high refresh rate, but I think it could really annoy people visiting your site. On the "Latest News" block, the image providing the bottom curves is wider than the rest of the block, and sticks out to the right. I tested the site in Opera, so it may not occur in other browsers, but still worth a look.

Love it! Thank you for helping me prove that teens aren't web-illiterate!

Very nice site, clean and simple with concise content. Navigation works well as do the colors used. Improvements I can suggest are:

Enhance your site logo, it looks like it is put there as an afterthought. Be proud of your name and make it stand out.

Check your spelling and grammar in your content, I found at least one spelling error on your 'Services' page. There may be others, I didn't go to every page.

The "+" used to change color schemes should have something to tell us what it does without having to click on it.

rvalkass's problem with the "Latest News" box not lining up is not apparent in Firefox. You done an excellent job with this, you should be proud. :)
