What Is Logic Of Trap17

Recommended Posts

There'r many websites like Xisto which offer free hosting but require you to post on forums.. just curious, what is logic behind this ? they get money from ads what they have put on forums... but, is it good enough that they are in this business ??? dont tell me that they are paying by their pockets <_<

Look on the bright side. Xisto probably just wants to give users a realible forum. It's actually very generous of them and I don't think the admins really plan on getting rich and becoming millionaires. I think that they are just doing it out of the good of their hearts. At least I hope so lol, this is a great site and offer the best hosting I have found around.

Theri are several reason why website host use posting as requirement.1. Get users to <- snipped -> 's to generate the money for free hosting.2. Use the posts as a way to get search engines to index the site.3. the use of #2 will lead into #1.

Yes, it?s very logical indeed and a really clever way to maintain a hosting service. This way I suppose that we all get something. We get a great server and Xisto the money to keep this alive. But I don?t think this could work for a big business. I mean I don?t know if someone gets many benefits from this (I don?t really care as long as I have hosting) but in that case I don?t think that these benefits would be too big. Big hosting enterprises only seek money and they wouldn?t offer free quality webhosting only for a couple of posts. For me that?s what makes Xisto special.

trap17 is verry logical...lol Xisto is a free branch of Xisto - Web Hosting.com which is a big hosting company and it almost completley pays for Xisto's free hosting, then the ads on the forums here i dont think they pay by click they pay Xisto to put the ads on their website, then theres Xisto.net, which has ads and they get money off those too....the whole i deal, i think of Xisto is to give people who want to run a sucesfull website a taste of what they would get if their website ever got so big they would end up moving up for more space. basicly someones website is verry popular, they use up the badnwidth, they say hey, if Xisto - Web Hosting offers the same stuff as Xisto does, but mch more space and next to nothing price, i think i will switch there!so, Xisto kinda feeds into Xisto - Web Hosting giving them some of their business, i am thinking about moving from Xisto to their $3.33 plan sometime soon <_<

When you think about it, Albus is speaking some truth. At least 10% of the Xisto members have gone on to Xisto - Web Hosting, so it is possible that part of the logic behind Xisto is secretly based on the fact that you can get hosting with more than twice as much space for so little a month. Of course, there's no way to know for sure.

Me too... when my site gets a little bit more popular...

Well the more active the forums are the more people will click or see adds etc. This is how Xisto makes all their money witch in term goes to support all the servers that host the websites. Without adds there would be no free web-pages. and of course without members it would be the same thing. -This is the reason of why you have to post and maintain your credit points.

Now it's true that ads bring in a bit of revenue, but the real backing behind Xisto's income is ComptingHost sales (or at least as I view it). The credit system does make sense, because you are forced to constantly come back to the forum and see (and potentially click on) ads. That may lead to users being annoyed with coming back, which leads to either the member leaving, or going up to paid hosting.

At least 10% of the Xisto members have gone on to Xisto - Web Hosting

I am one of that 10%, even though I still hold my status as a hosted member (shhh, don't tell BuffaloHELP).
