Build Traffic By Polls/surveys. Great boost to site-traffic.

Recommended Posts

A major question for new website builders is TRAFFIC. Traffic is the only thing a web-master need to think while designing the website.Surveys are nice way to increase the traffic to your site. For people to want to fill out the survey and see the results, the survey topic must be interesting. To encourage input, consider having the survey results available to participants only. Your survey could be ona topic concerning current events or something pertaining to your industry. The more controversial or debatable the topic of the survey, the more people will visit to contribute or see the results. If you wantto draw a very targeted audience, pick a topic that is of interest to thatmarket alone. In performing these surveys, you are building repeat traffic and you are gathering valuable information on your market. If you hold an interesting survey every week or every month, then you will retain a loyalaudience of repeat visitors. If your surveys are newsworthy, then you can send out press releases to publicize the results and gain publicity foryour site. Here are some good points to note:1- Your surveys should be short and to the point. Let people know why you are asking them to do the survey and when the deadline is.2- Make your questions clear and concise. The responses should be Yes/Noor multiple choice. 3- When reporting the results, don?t just put them onyour Web page; post the results to newsgroups and mailing lists that would be interested. Don?t forget to add your signature file. If you are holding weekly or monthly surveys, let people know via your signature file what the next survey topic will be and that there is more information on your Web site.4- Again, ask people if they?d like to be notified of survey results, either by e-mail or by prior notification as to when the results will be posted on the site. You might also ask if they?d like to be notified when you areconducting a new survey. And all these need no work at all. And You need not go anywhere. They are right hee in Your Xisto cPanel.

You have raised nice points. But the problem is how will people come to know about where the Poll is being conducted or which site is carrying out survey. Let's say net users used to visit my homepage but never goes inside any pages then I can make them go inside my pages by putting survey or opinion polls but then they have never come to my site. How will I attract them to my site to increase my website traffic. In fact, I have a very good opinion poll running in one of my sites but unless they know where that is existing they are not probably reaching since no one is reaching the homepage itself.

Ok let's see some methods for attracting people to the website first. Then are a multitude of reasons that you should consider developingand distributing your own newsletter. Ofcourse you must not think you are spamming while sending the newsletter to unknown public for the first time.Newsletters can be an extremely effectiveonline marketing tool for the following reasons:? You become established as an ?expert.? By providing your readerswith valuable articles related to your area of expertise, youbecome, in their eyes, a valued and trusted expert.? You establish trust. The first time someone visits your Web site,he or she has no idea who you are, how capable you are, or howprofessional you are. Sure, visitors get an impression from thelook and feel and content of your site, but are they ready to dobusiness with you? By providing them with free, valuable contentover a period of time, you earn your visitors? trust, and theyare more likely to turn to you when they need the type of review or poll result that your site had drawn.? You generate significant traffic to your Web site. Your e-zineshould always reference and provide a hyperlink to somethingavailable from your Web site. Once your visitor links through, there should be elements that encourage him to stay awhile andvisit a number of pages on your site. The more often people visityour site, the more likely they are gonna be loyal with you.? You build loyalty. Relationship marketing is what it?s all abouton the Web. You build relationships over time, and your newsletterwill help you do just that. Your subscribers receive somethingfree from you every month. Whom are they going to do businesswith when they have a need for your product or service?People prefer to spend their money with businesses they knowand trust.? You stay current with your customers and potential customers. When you are in front of your subscribers every month, you?renot too easy to forget. You can keep them up to date on what?snew with your company and your products and services, orwhat?s new in your area of expertise.? You grow your database.
