Looking For A New Web Editing Program I need a new web designing program

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am a web designer and I am having difficulty finding a good program that I can use that as what i'm looking for. Now I have been using TSW Webcoder but it is causing alot of errors for me and am getting sick of it wiping clean some of my site files. Well I am looking for a program that has a wysiwyg editor, sort of like the quick edit used in TSW Webcoder but a more powerful one with more options, also with that is a normal html editor. Also i am looking for one that has an inbuilt codes already in it, like quick codes to make a link, image, even javascript things like a code library. Also a code checker is VERY VERY important for me and maybe a spell checker. I have tried many programs and they have all not been so good. So I was trying to get some suggestions for programs that match my rquirements or if not just give me names of all the good programs out there. Ok so u dont give me one I already tried, here is a list of what i have tried. TSW Webcoder 3, TSW Webcoder 2005, Frontpage, AceHTML, Arachnophilia and a few others i cant remember right now. So please, give me some names of some good programs and your personla favs. Thanks

I always use "Crimson Editor", but since that's a pretty old program, you might want to try some better software. Download.com has some good ones you might like.

As almost everyone has said before, Dreamweaver 8 is amazing. It really is the best web editing program. It's free for 30 days and you can just try it out.

It sounds like dreamweaver is the stuff. People seem to love dreamweaver and always advertise it over other things. So my question is, can people tell me exactly why it is as great as it is, and more importantly, any reason why people are not inclined to use it.

I think its great because its easy to use for my level of experience in coding. I"m like a noob level. lol. It has wysiwyg so its easy to see your coding at work while your working on it. The built in ftp thing is great so you don't have to open another ftp program and just upload everything. With dreamweaver its just one application.

Well I wouldn't really worry about Dreamweavre 8 anymore Dreamweaver 9 is the more complete package, due to the fact it now supports more templates both fluid and fixed width, the coding is up to standards with support for coding in mobiles phones. IT now supports ajax and scary it enough there is xhtml support for frams. It both supports not only fireworks but also photoshop images. Also includes no junk coding which is one of the best things for a html editor, so basically what I am trying to say it is the ultimate package, not to keen on the browser it has but thats ok I sometimes use it for quick edits. There so much stuff to it, you wish other html program can support most of this, although this is one of hte most expensive html editors out there, it's worth every penny.Of couse some of us like to go old school and use note pad, which I do sometimes for again quick fixes, but when I am doing serious codig I like to see the code more organize with it's pretty colors and what not.

Dreamweaver is great, but if you cant use it, use notepad! definately the best way to go if your just in it for coding. but for a wysiwyg, dreamweaver is the way to go.

To make a quality website you need this programs: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash.Learn CSS, but for CSS you can use Dreamweaver, but better is to learn how to make code in notepad, and put meta tags in html documents. When you will learn CSS you will don't need to have tables in your website.
