Why don't you just use Wordpress instead of trying to reinvent the wheel? Wordpress is a very popular blogging software and content management system. Don't believe me? Wordpress uses a very recognizable permalink URL. Check out this Google search: https://www.google.com/search?num=100&hs=Do%22&btnG=Search

What exactly does the search query above mean? 13,000,000 posts from approximately 13,000,000 sites were made in May of this year! And that's only counting .com sites. Try replacing '.com' with '.org' or '.net'

If you don't like a particular feature of Wordpress, you can always use the thousands of plugins out there. If you want to take it a step further, you can look at the source and play around with it.
