I was wanting to add a game to my site and was wondering if it would be better and easier to create one using flash or director. I have an idea for a very simple wrestling game but i'm not sure where to start. Is there someplace where i can get a very simple intro to game programming.thanks
http://www.flashkit.com/ has a billion tutorials on flash interactivity/ game making and stuff. Checks it out.
hey thanks for replying. It's my favorite flash site too, everything there.
my fav 2,has all kind of tutorials and samples.flash guru is cool 2.btw does any1 know a site where i can download flash libraries?
To be a bit specific, you will need to learn some actionscript and also have a copy of flash, I own flashmx myself.
i have both flash and director right now, and noticed that director allows you import 3d objects and all these built in funtions. Like collision detection which i've barely managed to get working in flash so i was wondering still which one is better at games. I'm ambitious, i want to make a very tiny quake clone game for my new site.
do you know alot about building flash games cos iv just started and iv build one platform game check it out http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ im working on some more and will post them soon
try some of https://www.kirupa.com/ tutorials or try some real game engine like
gamemaker at https://www.yoyogames.com/
hope that helps
I gave up for a bit, but i bought a book on actionscripting and games have to say it's made the whole thing alot easier. So i'm telling people buy a book.round.trap17.com
Actually as it turns out, is much easier than it seems. I got a beginer's book on action scripting and now looking back at all the scripts i got from flashkit.com, well there just way over complicated for no reason.round.trap17.com
hey round, your site is awsome, that looks rad. how long have you been messing with flash, you seem to know the ropes.
yea i use game maker im kind of a pro in that! thanx...
Yeh checkout flashkit.com that place has everything and anything you may need.
I like flashkit.com too but everything you download is pretty set in terms of the actionscripts and it sometimes takes forever to change up the code to do what you want it to do.
