Site In Swish

Hello to everyone. I want to show you my attemptions in web desing. I usually use the program Swish, which is a flash type program, but easier to use. My web sites are in greek language, but you can see the desing and tell me your opinion.

A) is it jus tme or does it take ages for the page to load? I think the background picture at the end of the into is overly blurryC) i think the Welcome animation at the stop should be set to roll just once and that being when the person enters the siteD) i dont think the sized down picture used for the top banner and the footer look appealing, same for the text its realll yblury, other than that, i sorta like the layout of the site, colors are good mixture except the black and white menu barsfar better than what i would ever be able to do though

Page load time is fast enough.Now, the only thing I felt is.. It gives a feeling that the designer is a beginner. The animations used are very simple and it lacks complexity.The intro text could had been a bit transparent. It would had given it a much better effect. The loading screen with the two circles shrinking in size is a very simple animation. And does not look that good.. a very narrow loading bar would had looked better..The rest is ok :-)Sorry my suggestions and comments are a bit straight forward, but this will definately help you improve .Last but not the least, making your site completely in flash will not be SEARCH ENGINE friendly. So, Even if you had the chance of attracting THOUSANDS of people from search engine, you would just lose it because of the flash content. As SEs do not read flash to much extent.You can create another NO-FLASH or HTML section to keep things simple for people with slower connections and for search engines. :-)

i like the sounds on the text when they disappear..and yea the pictures are kinda blurry on the intro...also i think you should use different font on the content and for the links..i think Times New Roman would look better than the one you have right now.but flash is hard, i've tried it before.. you did a good job overall.

Hello! At first look I was in shock! WOW, so much job with flash and much more... But you know, your job was fatuous. You could easly make much better site with HTML, PHP and Adobe photoshop! That`s that! Intro of site is so, so! YOu could live without it, couldn`t you?COlors for your page sux! Sorry, but that`s true! Those backgrounds sux too, text are pitiable! Pictures aren`t good at all! What`s that sh*** in left side of contect??? Navigations change looks bad too, and navigation buttons - ohh my *BLEEP*ing god! They are grey, when I mouseover they are colored in colors, which don`t apper in homepage background or style!!! That music in background is bad! Again - you could live without it! And font is kinky, I don`t understand any word! Just numeral! Ok, somewhere appers normal font, but that`s so rare!...I can`t give more then 2/10 for that site sorry, but those 2 points are just for big job with flash... Keep going and try something new!

Hmm I have to agree with tempest because at first glance it looks wow, shocking and some what original but the highlight / mouse over images are kinda blurry and not that great and the color scheme also needs alot of work. As opaque said your site will also tottaly suck if you want to attract alot of people via search engines so I would take that into consideration especially since in all honesty I really think you could make a much better and cooler site jsut using simple HTML and CSS.

verry nice allways wanted to programm a flash website big concerns often have a flash siteso i like yours the musik is verry good and the whole theme rulez expecialy these interludes which are shown after clicking on a link

I just want to say that Flash site builders dont works for anyone.I've tried them before but now im convinced that those just take a lot to load and makes the quality of images the worst!I guess everybody noticed that, but almost every image is so blurry and pixelated. So as people said dont use Flash builders, better try to make your own HTML based site.6/10

OpaQue raised the point I was going to make. Anything in Flash won't be indexed by Google, and quite possibly any other search engine. There will be little point of even adding your site to Google, since you can only get incoming links to your home page, and your outgoing links won't be indexed since they are in Flash.On to the site itself:-Page load time (with my less than stellar DSL line) is fine-The intro animation isn't terribly exciting-None of the images are vector-based, meaning they don't look to pretty wehn stretched out (like they are on my screen).-I like the option to turn off the music

Very nice for a first attempt... mine was not this fancy. But a few tips...

Flash intros: Most people don't watch these, and in fact its said that the most clicked thing on the internet is the "skip intro" link.

Background music: A lot of people don't like sites with music because they listen to their own while they surf. The extra music is distracting. While its good that you at least have an "off" button, I'd recommend taking the music off entirely if possible.

Animations: In particular, the "welcome" text and the scrolling binary, which repeat long after the page loads. Animations are distracting. AFAIK, the only "animation" that most designers use on a consistent basis is a rollover (which you've used for your links as well )

Load time: This isn't so much of a hassle the second time a user visits a site (as its cached), but if a page loads too slowly, chances are they'll have clicked away and there won't be a second time.

Images/colors used: The colors seem a teeeny bit off, not bad but not great either. Some of the pictures are unnecessary and/or stretched out too big. Try to use solid colors or subtle images as much as you can, it can look much better than an image-heavy site.

I really like:

Navigation: Too many sites use navigation that is confusing, overly complex or hard to find. Yours is very clear, very simple and easy to use. This is a VERY GOOD THING because of course its important that users can move around your site comfortably.

Basic layout shape: Navigation at the top, again is very easy to find. The shape of the content area is very eye-catching, page titles tucked off in the corner, and I like the idea of having a single picture to accent each page, though I'd suggest a different picture for each page that goes with your site content.

You're just a beginner. But keep going, I was at that level once when I was 14. Now 17, and kept going with it and now I'm at ties with professional looking sites. So just keep doing what you love. Practice makes perfect. I recommend researching Web Design first so you know the web standards and how audiences react to them.
