New Joomla! Design For Site [by Paul] What do you think? Is it ready for its primetime ;)

Recommended Posts

I just created a NEW DESIGN/TEMPLATE for the Joomla! Content Management System.

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

This design features a top-bar where some SEO keywords can go right on top and then on the second tier of the top bar, there is the sites name/title.

The main colors of this design are gray (#CFCFCF) and shades of blue (#00CCFF to #0066FF). The design itseld WAS valid XHTML 1.1, but the way Joomla renders content caused some invalidity :P.

The template has very few graphics, about 7-10 fast loading images. Most of the template is text based and there are no tables used (except when Joomla! renders content in the form of tables :D)

The tabbed menu is integrated into the header making it look like a part of the header. The content and the right bar have a box around them ;).

So any comments or suggestions are welcome (and required )

The URL for the new design is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (NOTE: once you visit this URL, the whole site will appear in the new template for you! To switch back to the old one visit: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ to switch the template back to the original design )

I really like it, but like anything else. There are somethings I don't like. The black takes away from your old professional look. So I would try experminenting with other colors, and maybe add screenshots, so people can vote, and see how you like that idea.I do agree, that the link bar at the top of the page, does indeed make it look more professional. But really its not big deal about the colors. Its really nice and stuff. Keep up the good work, if I ever need a template, I will contact you.
