Good And Professional Web Templates Should Be Free Lets make a world of free templates.

Hi, I was just thinking that all the web professionals should contribute to the web world. We should all share our website templates if we have made so that everyone can have a good site...I have a made a couple of website templates which i believe are professional ones. So if anyone want any design please reply..and also i would request all of you to share your templates over here

there are some wicked flash templates on web tempalte box, seriously, but i dotn like other peoples designs becaue you have to have there sponsor logo and text all over it and no one knows that you created the site when if you have your name at the bottom you have some serious satisfaction, although if you go on ebay you can buy dvds full of tempaltes without logos and names so you cna customize all that you like! anyways have fun with this thread and ill check abk soon to see if anyone has posted their template site, thanks boys and have fun creting your own tmeplates

For "The White" i have many sites but i dont have Flash ones... they are all photoshop templates.. but believe me they are really good... i just want to know what u need it for.. and i will(Inshallah) make a good custom webdesign for u... Although I agree that web professionals should contribute to the web world, I do not agree that they should do this by giving out free web templates. Creating a template takes time and hard work! Its like saying Wal-Mart has to contribute to society by giving away free stuff!

Web professionals can help by creating tutorials on how to create websites and/or writing informative blogs and articles for other to learn from.

I think that it will be much better if each person who wants a good looking website takes the time to read the extensive tutorials available and to create their own great-looking designs. This will also give the maker of the site some personal satisfaction .

I myself started out using other templates, but soon realized that its not as satisfying .

I find jibnet's suggestion to be well meant. I also agree that certain templates should be free. However, I also fear that intellectual copyright would not be respected and an unique design should be copyrighted and be well compensated.The suggestion of creating and donating free templates have already begun at http://www.oswd.org/. However, there's no stopping in Xisto members posting web templates under Internet > Web designing... And it would be nice without any request, that members start creating and uploading/posting for web template download.

I think you'll find a lot of professionals already do provide templates for free for things like Wordpress etc however that's not to suggest that I agree that professional templates 'should' be free.

I do think people should maybe contribute to making Free templates but not all should be free. There are already many sites professional, and personal, and clan templates at http://clantemplates.com/ and many other sites. I think though that they should only be used for personal sites or soley owned businesses or something not that big. Like stated before site designs do take time and work to make just like it does to make a painting so it just can't be given away for free all the time or it would be a waste of time if someone was doing it for a living because they wouldn't make any money.

I partially agree to your idea. But what about those who are only good at web design and can't get a job in any other fields. They gotta make money too, they do have a life. But for those who are able to share please do. Web designers should share their works--but not all. There are some that should be sold because it's all hard work. They took a lot of time to make those templates. It's not easy to make great professional templates.

I believe that there must be a number of free good professional templates out there for the public. Some people just could not afford buying expensive templates. Others, mostly teenagers, could not buy anything off the internet since they don't have credit cards. So free stuff (including templates) should be present on the internet. And we should thank all of those who are trying to contribute with their creations. Now on the other hand, if a huge company decides to build a website, they shouldn't go for a free template. After all, this website is going to make them make lots of money. So in such cases, the company must find a professional web designer/developer and ask him to make an exclusively unique template for the website, for a considerably good price. But, one more thing, concerning the free templates, all rights must be reserved and a link to the designers website must be present on the template. It should be incorporated in the images that constitute the template so that no one could remove the link. I think this is a good way to show appreciation to the designer who worked hard on producing the free template.
