Colour "sniffer" Tool Needed to find out the Hex colour codes off of graphics.

Recommended Posts

I am in need of a "colour sniffer" tool that will hover over a graphic and tell me the Hex colour code that is under the eye-dropper thing. Does anyone have a link to a freeware tool that does this?

i do know that you can if you want take a screen shot of the screen you want the color from and paste it into photoshop and click on one of the color boxed (Foreground or background) and then select the eyedrop tool and pick the color you want...that is what i do when i want the color of somthing >_<

paste it into photoshop

Suppose that works if you have Photoshop.

I don't do enough graphics work to need all that power. I only want to match some colours now and again.

you can use gimp it almost the same as photoshop and is free, but yeah I do believe a plug in for ff has that in there.

That most advanced of image editors, MS Pain can also do this, if you don't want to download something. Paste in a screenshot, then click the eyedropper tool. Choose the pixel you want then click Colours > Edit Colours... Finally, click on Define Custom Colours >> and all the information you need will be displayed.
