Give Me Pointers In Photoshop Cs

HiI am a photoshop newbie and this won't ever be my specialty, i am more into PHP,CSS and MySQL but i want to know the basics of it.I need to make a scary logo, like a bat with words in its wings.I don't want outright solutions but since i can't draw well, what is the best tool to use to get the shape of the bat?Shall i find a bat online and use like the lasso tool to get the shape out and use that?I am afraid my bat will look weird this way.I hope i get some pointers on what to use so i can try.Thanks a lotPatrick

Well for some good tutorials u can use http://www.good-tutorials.com/ ill find u some more good sites later, but goodtutorials is where most ppl learn and they add new tutorials dailyand yes most ppl take stuff off the internet and cut it out
