Order With Xhtml And Css how do i improve

Recommended Posts

hi!, actually i'm working on one site for my grandma's vivarium, i have been researching all kinds of features about xhtml and css and it rocks, but i have got a lot of problems with the arrangement, alignement and possitioning, specially when the content of tables differs and i have to create a new class, and then i have to reorder all the padding, marging, width and heights commands or even worse, nesting!. I lose the control of the layout.

ok the question here is if there is any way of doing standard tables(with divs) of content or layouts structures, without adding a new specific class or classes to the new one.

may be i haven't been not too clear, i would like to know how to add content of any kind but loosing the order.

here goes the site:
imagenary

the site is in spanish, but may be you don't have to understand it, in the home page, it will control contact options like maillinglist, tell a friend and contact form, and also information of the vivarium. further i will upload an image gallery with technical info about plants, feel free to suggest whatever you think about it.

almost forgot, what i'm trying to do is something like spoono

thanks!.

It doesn't look too bad at all (I'm using Firefox) aside from the colors...and the rest of it. If it's your grandma's, what does it have your username? Also, what exactly is it? I know viva is "live!" because "vita" means life. And with the Spoono reference, the two of them look very different.

Yeah, you're gonna have to try again cos I've got no clue what your actual problem is.

The colors are extremely ewie, the banner could use a bit of work, but the over all layout is probably fine. Just pleeeeease fix the colors. They clash a lot :P

Yes, what you want is possible, and can be done with only XHTML & CSS using DIVs and SPANs, but can be somewhat tricky to master..

I suggest reading anything you can from this site: CSS Zen Garden

Remember, the complete style & layout can be modified with CSS alone!
When you view the site, there are links on the left and each of them point to the exact same XHTML file, but with a different CSS file to apply style & layout.. you will see just how much is possible with CSS in controlling layout..

Good luck in your studies!!

well to answer you question no you have to make a individual class name to each table set you have, otherwise it will just be the same tables.but yeah change those colors yuck.

Hola!! Saludos desde Mexico!!
There are a lot of places where you can learn css. One of them is w3 schools

Which I really really recommend, and the very best is: Verlee Duoh

its a really good pdf tutorial in which you make a complete css page starting with the graphics, and what better program than photoshop? I did my first css page with this tutorial.

In verlees page I also remember seeing a css styled table. It was a really cool table though se used tags like th, td, etc..

Well I hope this helps you, If you decide to check them out youll probably be busy for a couple of hours. :P

Hasta luego, Amigo!
