First Trap17 Site No pages, but layouts there

I just finished up the layout and finally have it about how I want it, I expect I should be able to start putting in the informative pages pretty quickly now that that's over with. I haven't even put in the link buttons yet on the 2nd page but you can get an idea of what the basic look of the site will be anyway.

I heard from some graphic designers that the dark blue doesn't fit in but frankly I like it that way and I'm doing it to express myself through it, so if it suffers a few points in color cohesiveness as a result, so be it. Anyway, what're your thoughts on the site speed, look, etc...?

Personally I could give your site a slightly sleeker look and feel with the PHP abilities and some lines of CSS. Being a 'professional' web-designer myself .No really, Nice look, you lose the ads, you'll have one heck of a site.Panda

@Joshua Again -- Very nice site. Looks very professional. The colors don't work well though. Green and white don't look good together to me. Sorry. And the text needs some work, it's rather pixelated up top.

Awesome website dude! It looks great, and I'm a christian, so i have an excuse to go there a lot. Great again man!

I've noticed that there are large white sections either side of the banner at the top, perhaps fill that with the green you're using. I agree with Panda, get that site transferred to Xisto and lose the ads.

Hey, I like the site but how come you're hosted with this server that has ads? Aren't you hosted with Xisto? By the way, the header at your site is a little hard to read, if you don't mind me being frank. thats quite a unique idea for a site. I don't think I've ever come across a site like your's. Keep up the good work.P.S. Try hosting with Xisto, they're ad free and...well, they're a great host! I Guarrantee you, you'll not regret it:)

what's this site man? can't you host it on Xisto.com, because they offer a free high quality web hosting service. I see you're using freeservers with their huge banner ads. It doesn't look good to your business with that banner, believe me.

And it's a crap site.. if I can call that a site. Let's review it a little:

Just try in the future to use smaller fonts, more graphics and try not to host it on ads-supported servers.

Sorry, realized as soon as I made the first post I'd forgotten the link and then reported it. The jzyehoshua.8m.com site is NOT my new site. My new site is at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

 

Because I have been unable to access Xisto the last few days (some kind of SQL database error it's been saying) I haven't been able to see what happened on this topic or do anything further about the link mistake. Sorry about the confusion.

 

Now how about some actual reviews of my actual site at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ?

Yeah, I kinda figured that out as soon as I clicked on the link eventually put in by Kubi...Old site- extremely slow to load. In fact, all I saw for about 10 seconds was a white browser with a banner ad on the top. I was about to click out, but the page started to open...Xisto site- very nice, I like the look, even though it's not that different than your old one. The page loaded almost instantly, so yeehaw to that. Overall, 7.5/10. It is original, much like my site, which I would actually give a 5/10. If you can get the creative juices flowing and make something special, you'll have an excellent site.One more note, it seems like you're targeting both baseball and religion. Alright, thanks for the feedback Good to know it's loading well, it's been something I've been focusing on but with this computer being slow lately I wasn't sure about it.

 

I plan on getting a lot more pages in, and once I get enough articles in the Apologetics section I plan on putting them in a nice table very similar to the one at the top of this page: http://www.teachinghearts.org/dre03propchristnotes.html

 

Yeah, it is a personal site and I'm hoping the baseball info might attract additional interest in the site it wouldn't otherwise have. I plan on adding in the baseball info and some other stuff, like a hymn database in a section called "Christians" or maybe "Christian Corner"

 

Anyway, I have a lot of ideas for the site and like I said, it's a pretty barebones structure right now. As I start getting the info on it I might try playing around with different menus or looks to the site, for now I'm just trying to get the info on it.

mmmm rite. . . well i wud give it 4/10 in total.Graphix - 2/10 simpyl coz its all quite plane and boring, and u have some tacky animated gifs in there aswell ( a personal pet hate). The graphics cud be alot better.Layout - 3/10 again quite simply coz its plain and unimaginative. Text Nav at the left content donw the right. . . *yawn*. It wudnt be so bad if ya had some good graphics to compliment the layout.Content - 6/10 This is where u do well You've spent time adding lots of content which is great. although i don't personaly find it interesting (religion isn't my thing). You also have alot of features and such, but its all bravenet, which isnt intergrated into the "style" of your site. (another pet hate of mine)Errors - a couple of graphical errors. . . the home header has a gap between the left top and the "bible baseball and more" header graphic. And the bottom of the naviagtion isnt wide enough.Don't take my words harshly, i rate sites all on the same level. I cna see ur a begginer to this, so well done for your effort
