I write this pool not to affront web creators, programmers etc.

but to know how could we impruve our webpages reputation.

Answers explanation:

PopUp

Especially when more then one it's not to hard close one pop-up

Big Adds (

I mean those google, skreenserver banners at left right or top site side

Small Adds

"81x33" buttons, "powered by" buttons...

"ENTER" page

Nothing to explane

Fancy JavaScript stuffs

Foling snowflakes, following clock at mause pointer ,sparkles...etc.

Link to anbother page opens not in new window

When they give you link to some useful page but url's target is set to "_self" and then you must use "back" button to comeback

Copyed site style, information or source

Nothing to explane here

Site from templates

Don't you think that it's to easy to use it and creators off that site are not true webmasters

Automaticly opens another webpage

I mean when it automaticly opens few other pages

Intro flash movies

Those movies looks great but it just takes to long to download it.

Woooo, this list could go on for ever! The things I personally hate are:

The entrance pages. Whats the point? OK, I've come to your site only to be given a large button labelled Click To Enter. Never really understood the point.

Annoying javascript. OK a clock may be useful, but a clock following your mouse made out of ASCII art??

Copying information. If you can't write your own stuff, don't have a website. You wouldn't walk up to a Picasso and say "I painted that", so don't do it to other peoples content.

Automatically opening web pages. Their hit counter goes up, but they know that most of those hits are people forcibly having the page opened and then closing it 2 seconds later. Another commonly annoying use for javascript.

Loads of animated GIFs. Even on broadband a whole page full of unhelpful and pointless animated GIFs can take a while to load, and its even more frustrating when the images didn't need to be animated anyway!

Sorry I sound a bit angry, I am trying to finish my geography coursework for the end of next week! ;)

I hate bank websites that don't work in all browsers. I mean, come on, banks make HEAPS of money and yet they can't pay for a web development team that does their job properly. ;)

Quite often that first page has browser detection javascript in it and that 'Enter' link is generated depending on what browser you're using.

There are very many things that can make a website be painfull to look at or not very nice to navigate. One of the things that really bothers me is the javascript stuff. As you said snowflakes, stuff that follow the mouse or maybe even a diffrent pointer. Another thing that is really anoying is background imagease that are bigger than lets say 300x300 and dont flow in with each other. i mean if you use a texture its fine even though that also can look crap if its to extravagant. Then big images like photographs or graphics that dont have a uniform color and dont flow into each other. What can also be anoying is animates gifs for a background. what ive seen sometime latly is a flashing star (about 100 x 100px) tiled on the backgroung flashing and flash anf flashing and urg thats so annoying. Now as to some of the things you mentions i dont really find very anoying. The Powered by buttons are ok in my opinion. i mean they arnt very big and if they hasent used a CMS or something the site would probably not be as good as it is. (get what i mean? O.o) But then again stuff that arnt good when using a CMS or a Forum like phpBB is using the standart template that comes when you install it. i mean there are many templates for all kind of messages boards and usualy you dont even have to download them and upload them to install them. and thats about all i have to say about that. ;)

That's a first for me, I thought they were just there to annoy you and pee you off :P

Anyway, yes, the 'enter' button really annoy me and if the site has absolutely loads of pop-ups, one or two fine. But since I started using Mozilla Firefox, it's fine anyway :P

And I hate those full screen pop-unders, UGH, what the hell is the point?

The fancy javascript stuff is bugging me alot lately, the stuff that follows the mouse as you said ;)

This list really could go on forever as rvalkass said..

Hmmm... interesting. Yes, I agree with quite alot of the aspects of websites that shouldn't be used, as you've mentioned. Flashy animated .gifs is my worst enemy! :P and flashy backgrounds---YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! Yep, I don't like the sites with backgrounds that don't tile either, they make the website look cluttered and in a way... "cheap", if you know what I mean. Oh yes, I hate the comic sans font as well. It is so boring and to me it looks lumpy! I remember that I used the font before on my school assignments and stuff when I was in yr 7 or 8, but then I stopped using it, but I never used it on my website, it just made the site look very....uuuhh. Oh, and don't start me on javascript, that is a bad choice, I really dislike javascript because it takes a lot of time to load and also the scripts are long, once you paste them into your site, you would have to keep on scrolling to get to the point where you last edited! I try my best to avoid using javascript but I suppose sometimes it is useful when I have small spaces for navigation but other than that, it is really bad. But I totally agree with the floating snowflakes and flashing stars though. ;) Wow, I've written quite a lot already but I am yet to finish my post though, oh well I guess I'll have to continue then.Ads! I don't like ads and especially those ads that are on your site which advertises these products and services that don't even correspond to what your site is about!! They are so stupid, but I guess, again, if they are offering free services to webusers than I guess thay do need to advertise to retain the free services. But, I mean, at least list the ads that actually has something to do with your website!!To me, I think the enter signs are OK in a way... I like the idea of creating an entrance to your site, so on that page you can list all the button rotations and credits and stuff so that you don't have to make a seperate page in your site to accomodate that info, but I do realise how irritating it is if someone has a slow internet connection and it takes them ages to load a page, but then only to find another page awaits for them to click-and load again!Pop-up layouts are quite annoying as well, because if you have pop-ups blocked and are unaware of it. You suddenly find your self clicking on this damn link for about an hour and nothing ever opens or loads, then you have the trouble of finding where your blocker is and then turning it off, and THEN clicking on the link again!I don't really like premade layouts on sites as well. You know that feeling you get when you come to this website and then you just suddenly fall in love with the content at this site and in the end you notice this very small lettering on the layout saying "Layout designed by XXXXX". You suddenly find yourself a fool to have liked such a site where the owner doesn't even know how to design a layout. And also those thousands of sites on the web that design premade layouts aren't helping webusers either, thats just encouraging people to be lazy and not unique.Wow, this post is coming into the 3100 character mark, I think I better stop, but that doesn't mean that the things about a websites I don't like has stopped, no-way! I just have to take a little rest until I start getting angry at those websites again. :P

I actually hate links that pop up in a new window. I use Firefox. So it's really irritating. They should make it pop up in a new tab instead.

Websites can be very annoying for many reasons so the poll does not do justice to all of them. I for one absolutely hate popups (which i do not get many of anymore) along with tons of advertisements on the page. Those just take away from the content and make the user want to leave the site. I also hate anyone who has copied another site and or used their style because as a web designer it is a very rude and inconsiderate thing to do. Finally, the one major thing i dislike about a website that is not on the poll is a site whose author does not know how to compress images so that they page acutally loads in a short amount of time. I hate waiting

Whooo it looks this pool does the job ;)

Here's what I hate my self:

PopUp's:
Yes there is no problem to close one popup. It never makes me angry because the site must live somehow but when I start to get tons of popup's I close that page imidietly and never come back to thiswebpage.

Stupid Javascript.

Annoying javascript. OK a clock may be useful, but a clock following your mouse made out of ASCII art??

the same goes to me. Also I hate stupid fallowing snowflakes, leafs,stars... it looks stupid for me because "webmaster" just copyed that javascript and did not write the code self and he puts in code what can find in internet all garbage, or for example I hate when you come to site and it shows message "welcome to my site" it sounds for me like "hei guys look at me I know how to put javascript in my site"
Automaticly loads new site
I hate it. Also I hate when site load him self and you cant normaly use your "back" button instead you must click "back" button many times as fast as you can

Stoling information.
What can I say they are thiefs. In this point I agree with rvalkass

This is very true. Though I do like it when I get a new page... because I can always find where I came from, if I've been directed onto another site, it can be frustrating to have all those windows open on you.

I think that only links that leave your site should have new windows come up, because if you are in someone's site, you should be able to navigate it fairly easily to get wherever you wish to be in it quickly.

Is there a way to make new windows come open in a tab instead if you are using Firefox? That would be great!

I personally think that javascript is worst of all because alot of people load their sites with useless javascript that is very annoying and makes the page hard to read. I like javascript when it is used in moderation for a marquee or to hide part of a page.

I totally HATE! the javascripts they only make the website get stuck you know... and also i hate the stollen information or layouts, i don't mind if they put the same information but with source you know (or that they would ask my permission) but it's very sad that when you browse a site you found all your information (and even pictures) pasted there ??

Well theres so much to choose from, but I would have to say my personal top hate is fancy java stuff, although I must admit I used to love it when I first started out but hey I was about 12 and lets face it who hasn't over used javascript at on time. But whats up with crazy snowflakes and the likes I mean its just a waste of html code. I also really hate all animated gifs, and I don't care if they are really good, theres a time and a place for them and lets face it a professional looking website aint one of them.

if you want cheering up or just like to laugh, check this out:

Rubbish early web site of mine

its one of my very first websites (GeoCities, I know what was I thinking) oh and feel free to laugh openly and call me names, I know its making the internet cry. Basically if I (for some unknown reason, probably becuase I was 12/13 and lets face it not very good, but I supose you know that because its GeoCities) put it on here then I hate it now and will gladly shoot myself if I ever include it in any future site I might design.

I am not really critical about websites. The one thing that boggles me is advertisements, no, let me be more specific, pop-up advertisements. I don't mind the advertisements that are embedded in the site, but those pop-ups, oh I just want to punch the computer screen. Especially those ones where you click out of one, and a bunch more just fill up the screen. By the time I can finally get to what I am looking for, I'm so ticked I click out. So the pop-ups...no good.I don't like a lot of animation. A little can make it look better, but overdoing it and it looks bad. Just like graphics, too much is no good. Have a nice banner at the top, and maybe some smaller images throughout the page, but not too many, it gets me emotional when there are more pictures that actual valuable content. One final note, many people on here don't like websites that used templates to design their site. I personally don't care. In my view, they are trying to do their best to make their webpage as attractive as possible, and if they can't design one themselves, then why not use a template? We all want our websites to look good, but some are better than others at doing it. Some can actually do it, and do it very well, while others need help until they learn how to do it themselves.
