My Templates

Recommended Posts

What do you think of some of the templates i have made, you cxan see them all here http://rustypaulin.deviantart.com/ i've only started making templates quite recently and i tthink i have imporved quite a lot since i've started, what do you think of my templates, do you have any criticisms, comments or suggestions. My personal favourite out of all my templates is the most recent one its blue and green with XenonHack as the header. Out of all of them which one do you like the most?

Simple Red Template: Nice simple layout. You can replace the red background with a red gradient background to make it more exciting. Also, replace the black font with another color. Black on red doesn't look good because of the contrast issue.Mario Circuit Layout: It's a bit simple, but I think it'll look good on a page. Perhaps making the background colors (white, green, and red) glossier would have a much better effect.Complete Sony Layout: This one is good. I like it's overall professional-feel. I can definately imagine this being used on a real site.Revolution Layout: This is a bit on the simple side. I like the graphics on the banner and the gradient for the dividers, but you need to fill it up with more graphics. Perhaps adding something in between Zelda and the robot (don't know its name :lol), or you can change the gray background to something more exciting all together.

those look all very plain, nothing iteresting nd very easy tomade, it kind of look like they all could be made in front pge or a html site builder. and you can't really see them that they're made in a graphic program.

Your new template looks good. I see the shiny part on the top of the template. Nice!

You could try to spice it up by making the borders more exciting instead of a black line. Here is an example of an wickedly good border: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Maybe the colors could be different? You don't have to change this because it's mainly one's personal preference. Try staring at your template for 5 minutes. If your eyes hurt, then the colors need to be darker. If your eyes don't hurt, leave them the way they are.

the templates look good if you've only just started making them. They can easily be re created in MS PAINT, which is not the ideal thing to achieve. You want to make a template that no one else can make or do, so it's original and people would want to use it.Try to make the text on the headers match the whole theme and color.Other than that the templates are looking good and if you improve.. you'll do well in the future.

I looked your templates, first of all it's very positive that you are creative and that you made something what is the product of your imagination and knowledge..I like the most your last template that you made, but maybe you should make some template with colors, which are not so "cold".. some colors which calm, and make some good atmosphere.. ;)

Xenon Hack: First thing that cought my eye is: Font is too big, make it smaller (menu and main content)Simple red layout: Colors are to strong (I'm blind by now ;) ) I suggest you try some gradient fill and as one poster suggested: look at your site for some time, and see if its to "hot"Mario Circuit Layout: Colors dont go together well (green and red, hm?) and again I had to close it quickly to keep my eyes healthyComplete Sony Layout: I like this one. I lacks some details but it look nice. Just make pictures less blury (use gifs for everything, except for images-photos). Save at quality of 12 if you are using Photoshop!Revolution Layout: Too empty. Try changing the lines (<hr>) into dotted lines like the line above the header on this page http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
Keep practicing!

Xenon Hack: 5/10Basic, but not bad. The header graphic is very neet ant tidy but the rest of the template/design is a bit boring.Simple Red:2/10Horrible. The header is hard to see and tacky. The red background isa bit too bright and boring. and the rest of the site is just boring. . . sorryMario Cart:4/10Not bad design. The use of the mario cart renders is quite effective and i like the font used alot. But otherwise, the site layout/design is borign again.Sony:7/10By far the best design. The header graphic is ok and the text postioning is a ncie effect. (the only thing i can say is that it looks like SONVACCESS as the tail on the Y in sony is hacked off) The rounded borders are nice too.Revolution:2/10mmmmm very plaini know ur new to this all so don't take my words too heart. I review everyone with the same attitude. BUT i can see your improving, sicne your first designs/attempts. The sony one you made is quite good and pleasing to the eye. So well done for your attempts. i'm sure as you get more confident in Photoshop (or what ever you used) you will create better templates.
