Singles Site: how to turn a profit?

I am starting my site as an alternative to the Italian singles site I was on, because as people paired off, they were forced to leave the site as they were not single anymore! They had made friends and wanted to have a place to chat....plus there are many ways I see to improve over that site. So my site will be a site for everyone who enjoys our magnificent Italian heritage - the wine, the art and architecture, the music, fantastico Italian food, etc - to enjoy friendships and exchange recipes and stories and stuff, as well as the singles aspect, of course. It will be a huge amount of work when it gets going, and I am hoping to get some ideas from y'all as to how I might make some money from it to compensate me for all the time i'll put into it. I googled several combinations of words but all i get is affiliate programs or banner ads to add to my site for other singles sites, which is no help!I think an Amazon affiliate woudl be okay, because there are dozens of books on related topics {recipes, travel, romance, etc}; and when it gets to a couple of hundred members I could approach tour companies that include Italy in their itinerary to advertise on my site........I've heard that newsletters are very profitable but I am just not convinced that a newsletter would work for my site.......Any ideas or suggestions??

well i tell you somthing not to use.google adsence cause they change the amount of money you get for each click and get anoying.Mick

you can try giving ads in your site and ask the visitors to click it and the ads provider will pay for every click . try it out and also its free and convenienti think it will surely make some profits in your site.all the best

Well google adsense for little cash maybe 100$ if you have a lot o visitors. You could try some adds or better yet if your site has a good amount of visitor you can directly talk to some companies and make an add plan with them. If you can do this you'll get some really nice cash like 400 500$. Another alternative is to add some services to your website that requires ppl to pay, like lets say you have a picture voting system and ppl can vote themselves and then there profile will appear in a top. With these setup you can sell votes like lets say 10 votes for 2$, 100 for 15$. Hope it helps.
