What Is The Best Web Site Developement Program What is the best web site developement program

I see 3 big company making web site developement programs. Macromeida has Dreamweaver MX, Adobe offers Golive CS, and Microsoft provides Frontpage. I'm just a newbie and have no idea which one I should learn. Any suggestion? Many thanks.

Microsoft Frontpage is better!it easy to learn.flash can learn later,learn frontpage first is better.

I am using Dreamweaver for over a year and I can really recommend it to you. It is easy to use, you can make very nice looking websites with it and also if you are really newbie thare are plenty of tutorials on internet for it. Really Dreamweaver is way to go.

Frontpage is easier to start with if your a newb, as it provides many templates to build ur sites with and is easier to use initally.

I however prefer dreamweaver.

I like Microsoft Notepad the most. It's not as clunky as the other programs, and it comes with all Windows operating systems.The only downside to Notepad is that you must know HTML and/or CSS quite a whole lot.

This could really go either way.. If you are new, frontpage is the way, simply because its easier to use... However, Dreamweaver tends to offer a more professional look once you get the hang of it (which if u try, really doesnt take too long)... I personally use both. I use Dreamweaver to make most of my sites, because it offers more options, while at the same time, for things such as clipart images and rollover buttons, I use frontpage simply becuase it offers more options to choose from, instead of just using images you already have on your PC... the choice is really yours to make ultimately, but thats my two cents about it...

Frontpage is the best one to use- simple and a easy menu- not a big step away from regular office programms such as word and paint- as such does not require you to learn a whole new language thus making is easy for everyone to use(which should be the goal of a good website builder!) - comes standard with office applications! why makes things complicated when you can do them simple? especialy new users and people who have to catch up learning how to use the web (older folks etc) need these kind of solutions. I wish that more programs were designed the way frontpage is. the rule of design: if your granda can use it then its going to be great and anyone can!!!

I personally find that Dreamweaver is a very good newbies' programme, it's just not so good once you become proficient with CSS code, as DW tries to second-guess your movements (useful for novices but not for people who are past that).

My advice is dont use Frontpage. It writes horrible HTML code for you so if you ever try to edit it, you would have to start from scratch. Personally, i would say use Dreamweaver MX if you have the oppertunity and also try to learn as much HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript as you can before you start making a page. If you know how to write it, then these programs do not really matter but i use Dreamweaver for the colored tags and autofill. Secondly, if you just want to write your own code, use either Dreamweaver for the reasons i use it or use CoffeeCup HTML editor because it does the color coding and has other things like indentation correction and such in it too.

I started using Frontpage, although I had dreamweaver installed on my PC, I still do infact. I don't regret using Frontpage at all, but there is some odd features you must learn to master

I would recomment Microsoft Frontpage! Its very easy to make a site but you have to make sure not to use any ActiveX controls because they are somewhat of a security risk.

I would recommend that you start with learning Microsoft Frontpage first. It is the easiest to learn amongst all the major web development programs.You can go for Dreamweaver and Golive later 'cos Frontpage does not support .php and the more advanced web programming languages.

Those who say Microsoft Frontpage... you must be kidding. The other possibility is that you have only used that program because it?s terrible compared to Macromedia Dreamweaver. Each one has his own taste but I think it?s universally known that Frontpage is not very good. The only reason to use it is that is very simmilar to Word (which is not a very good thing), I started making websites with FP because I thought DW would be too difficult and I can say is not a good option.My advice... if you know html and you want to get exactly what you type (and not what you see ), notepad or another editor with syntax advices, colours, etc. You can use it Dreamweaver this way too. And of course if you want a WYSIWYG, go for DW. Another good reason to use DW is the higher compatibility with Fireworks and Flash. I?ve heard rumors that Adobe has bought Macromedia... if it?s true then there?s another compatibility reason.

I recommend Dreamweaver too..The program roxs and its an excellent helper when your programming your pages may it be in PHP or HTML. It supports everything you throw at it as CSS, mySQL, everything.I use it on my site for exemple.

I like Dreamweaver (MX) as well. Lots of tutorials, a choice to see your site in either code or WYSIWYG format or both, support for Flash, Fireworks, etc. an Extension Manager, CSS file creator, PHP support and so much more. It may be overwheming at first (as it was for me), but once you get used to it you can make a really professional-looking site.
