Domain Question

Hi thereI was wondering how the domain name system works I was look at some domains but they just seem to redirect you to the address or is that somting different or do you regester it and then go to change domain in trap 17 hosting and ask for it to be changed to the domian you regestered and if so can you regester it with any one and after you have resgestered it with someone do you have to record details to enter when you request it in trap 17 dommain name change.Thanks

domains can eiether be set to DNS configurations or redirection, when it's DNS, you're website and the domain are inter connected, while you redirect, there is no relation between the two domains, you're just moving from one web address to another.whyme

most places you buy the domain name from have a seperate login to where you can enter and changethe DNS ip's to your web space providers designated more then likely recieved in your initial email when you joined them. After that is done you need park/addon the domain name at your web space provider so that it recognizes and apply any redirects that your wishing to have done as well. It takes anywhere from as quick as 6 hrs to as long as 72 hrs which is a pain in the but with the speed of everything else on the net you think it would done in minutes.Hope this helps resolve any thing you were wondering.

if you bought a domain name, it's best just to use dns. some registrar charge extra for redirecting service too.just park your domain since you have full cpanel control here

Whats the DNS For Xisto, do you have a personal DNS When You Register Xisto or do you all share the DNS.Example in the email I got wad ns1.trap17.com & ns2.trap17.comI entered that into a free domain .usa at the DNS or NS or something bit in the Domain Control Panel and I dont know what to do after that :SHelp !
