Which Forum is Better?

Yeah, I'm Having a Hard Time To Choose, If You Have Invision You Can Add Mods Like The Shoutbox, Member Map and Stuff, If You Have PhpBB or YaBB You Can Download Templates and Stuff And Change Its Looks, So What Do You Recommend For Me To Use?

I voted phpbb because customization keeps people interested and if you download new stuff on a steady basis (once a month) viewers will always find something new to do or play. Take for instance the army game and the arcade section on this site, when viewers get bored of posting they play and vice-versa. If you download add-ons unto a forum, it's great as viewers will never say I'm Bored unless they hate the purpose of your forum (eg games, webmastering, webhosts) ...

Invision powered boards are nice, clean and fast. But one has to pay for whatever the advantages it comes with. I would prefer phpBB simply because it is free and a lot of choices. In fact, phpBB seems to faster than IPB as far as my experience is concerned. For any board since one has to post something speed counts a lot. YaBB isn't comparable to IPB nor phpBB, it is simply not upto these two. That's my opinion. Thanks.

I'd prefer IPB probably ecause I have never used phpbb before. I reckon IPB is really really really easy to customize.. v2.0 is the best.. even though the css code is so friggin long, it's still worth it.. plus you can easily customize everything and there are tons of mods including shoutboxs shop mods etc... i'm going to use 1.3 tough because I don't have enough money.. yet. lol.Cools mods for IPB would probs be the munjpets army sys store mod and kenka!

What forum is better? There realy isnt the better one, it really depends on what you are going to be doing with the forum:phpBB - A great open source bulletin board, extremely customizable. Only problems: It is continually updated, so it is more open to intrusion to script kiddies. If you use phpBB, make sure that you always update to the latest version! The next version is coming out soon!Invision PowerBoard - You have to pay for this board, it isnt that customizable. But you mainly pay for security, because there isnt that many flaws with this board as in phpBB.I would recommend if you need security to go with IPB.I would recommend if you want to customize your board fully, to go with phpBBAnyways, thats my opinion!

1) phpBB because of

- great ever freeware over net.

- you can mod yourself.

- you can find lot of mod, hack, etc.

- good start point for beginner, learner for php.

2) YaBB because of

- light-weighted

- simple feature

- mixture of phpBB & IPB

3) IPB

- need to consider when comparing with vB.

(for me, if i happen to buy, i might buy vB -_- )

Simple Machine also rock!! dun left this one also....
