When i first started i used 1stPage 2000. It comes with pre-installed scripts and has many useful features. Search for it on Google. But be warned, last time i downloaded it it came with a virus. I could use the program after Norton deleted the virus although im quite sure i downloaded it of the creators website so MAKE SURE YOU SCAN IT FOR VIRSUSES!

well notepad is the cheapest but it will do if you know html... but i would use a program like Dreamweaver or Frontpage. Or any other html editor. The easiest for someone new is too get one of those programs and then the program will do the most of the html coding.

If you are searching for a free editor, there is an awesome free editor that is available online. I don't know what I would do without it. It's called "TSW Webcoder 5," it's the newest version of the software. You can find it at: TSWare. If you want to know all the features available for this software, read about it on their site.

Trust me when I say it's the best, for free software anyway...

Hi,I programmed my first page in notepad. But Notepad is a unpowerful editor. Now is the time you have to decide between using vi or emacs. A decision which every programmer or developer has to make in his life. . Both emacs and vi are cross-platform. I mean you can use them under windows too. However i discoverd Kate the other day. It is an editor for linux in kde and is pretty cool.Good luck with the editor choose.

I have never used this TWS webcoder before. What does it look like and what kinda featured does it have? Is it better than FrontPage or Dreamweaver (in your own opinion)?

I am uncertain if it is better than dreamweaver, as I have never used that program. But I know for a fact that any editor is better than frontpage. Not to mention, you get a lot better script help using other editors. You would like TSWares editor, it's a really easy to use editor has a lot of useful features including pre-installed scripts and has it's own script corrector for simple html and css. It's completely free, all you have to do is register the product and they send you the key to keep it working on your computer... Later, J.
