Net Send Good ol computers

Recommended Posts

Well, when I was at school today I got really bored. I remembered a command I learned a few months ago - net send. Here's how net send works: you open up command prompt, and type in "net send usernamehere message here"Well, since I was so bored I decided to send one to the whole campus and I wrote this:"net send * hey *BLEEP*es"I guessed the * was a wildcard, and curiosity killed the cat.And so everyone at a computer that time got a pop-up on their screen that said"Student B-8 says: hey *BLEEP*es"Usually it would say my username, but I logged onto the name Student, but B-8 gave me away :) it was my computer number. I was called down the the assistant principal's office and got three days of SAC. I forget what it stands for, but it's after school detention.Any of you guys done stupid things like that?Sorry if my language has disturbed you, but I said it like it happened.

Haha, somebody in my AP Computer Science class told me about that command the first day of school, but I never got around to try it; I will on Monday though.

My school has the Student login name, too, and a lot of people use it when they're doing something mischievous. How did B-8 give you away? I mean, don't your school have computers in a lot of rooms in your school? You should have gone somewhere quickly as soon as you sent your message to avoid getting caught. :)

I haven't done stupid things like that. The only "bad" thing I did was avoid the proxy by using the ping command and then typing in the returned IP into the address bar.

stupid things.... netsending is pretty lame compared to gaining control of all the students start menue folder ( on the server, scholl was running a domain) and then chaging the office shortcuts to a VB script that loged people off... me and a firend did that and only he got the blame.... although on our private Microsoft XP training Computers i have been fiderling with remotly actervating tell net and then using computer after computer to do the same only in a trail and then loging someone off.... works pretty well, a friend in the class showed me how to do it but when i tried it on my home computer is corupted my windows install :o (you need a file that remotly enables tellnet but it is stoped by most firewalls so its only really hanndy in an enclosed network environment...... sure its all fun and games but remember at most places like this if you get caught you will be booted off the network for a while......

Net send can be a fun thing if you are logged in annonymously (sp?). Our school has a couple of computers in the library that are logged on all day with a schoolwide account. It's always fun to send messages to teachers computers; you need to know the name of that computer on the network, obviously.

Do you think if I did I'd tell you? No, wouldn't have a clue where to start.

haha! something like that happened to me in high school...well not to me exactly but to my friend and I was sitting beside him when it happened. We were in the library's internet section and my friend (he's a guy) opened a porno site. They have this big rule in the library that prohibits visiting porn sites and becuase my school was stupid they didn't take any measures to prevent students from doing it like putting up filters or at least pop up blockers. I think it was unintentional. He kinda clicked a pop up and all these other sites also popped up. He got in trouble for that one and I was also questioned. It's funny now but I was scared then, my friend also because he was running for class valedictorian. After that we sort of sensed that the tteachers were a bit affected and they became indifferent towards us. My friend still graduated valedictorian and I apparently graduated also with a good moral character. So that's that.

lol yeah, im banned from the computers at school becayse i opened a teachers program though a hole i found in the network, anyway this program could control other peoples cursors on their screens so i could log people off n stuff, anyway i accidently did it to a computer my teacher was watching. LOL, instead of him just standing up and demanding to know who was responsible he just told me to get outside..

Everybody is so smart and computer literate. I feel so retarded compared to you guys. I think its cool what yall are doing. I can't do anything remotely illegal like that. Well against the school rules. I bet they have some program that watch what links we click. I'm just scared they'll kick me out or something. I've never been bad especially using a computer to do my bidding. lol. You computer people are rebellious.

At my old school, they were constantly watching the websites we were viewing and if a swear word or racist word popped up, the computer guys in the control centre would be alerted and we would be called up to receive a telling off. I never got tolf off of course  but I know other people who have.I feel the filter's go a little bit over the top. If they don't want us to play games, why bother filtering the website. Why can't they just temporarily disable the internet untiol we have free time?Anyway, netsend was blocked at my old school, tried it myself once. Someone left the password for 'admin' as 'password' so my friend informed me. I guess this was rather stupid.Anyway, there are other nifty little commands you can use, i've forgotten most of them now though :P
