FirefoxRocks 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2012 I'm wondering if there has been any plans to upgrade the current version of PHP 5.4. Lately I've encountered quite a few scripts that won't run with PHP < 5.3.0.PHP 5.3.0 was released back on June 30, 2009, and 5.4.8 (latest version) about a month ago... I initially thought that there were yearly upgrades to the server, but I guess I was wrong. Can anyone fill me in on this information or should I contact Xisto - Support? velma 6 Report post Posted November 17, 2012 Hi,In a perfect hosting environment, what you say about yearly php upgrades is a reality but since you are using a shared hosting service xisto has to keep in mind accounts that are still using really old scripts; Compatibility for all is the first thing that has to be kept in mind since we don't want accounts to suddenly stop working due to an upgrade :)Ideally, you should be inquiring about a vps for you.. xisto has some really cheap custom vps packages, I think there is one for $10 that you should ask about. There are unlimited advantages of having a vps starting with custom php / mysql , configuration, custom php.ini values, root access and dedicated resources for your account.
