Ahsaniqbalkmc 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 I might be wrong in my observation, but I am experiencing an increased number of spam posts and topics on Xisto forum. About a month ago, I never saw a porn related post on this forum but a few days ago, I saw 2 such posts which were there for a few days. In addition to these highly objectionable posts, I have also experienced an increased number of posts used for link spamming. Sometimes totally unreadable posts are found with a huge number of links in them. Maybe this is because people have started to realize that the difference between dofollow and nofollow links is getting thinner and thinner and search engines have started giving weight even to nofollow links. But I have to request the moderators and admins to take actions against such spam posts. I have huge respect for this Xisto forum because it gave me my business and I cannot see it getting destroyed by spammers. I have an additional suggestion for the admins and moderators.Make the report button more conspicuous and spread a little awareness about reporting bad posts. It would make the job of moderators extremely easy if bad posts are reported quickly by the users themselves. A reward system will definitely boost the process and if used properly, it can also result in more accurate reporting. For example, if the first user, who reports a post that is eventually declared as spam and deleted, is given 10 mycents, people will open their eyes and always look for spammy posts and topics. Similarly the community will clean itself if fir instance a new system is made where titles are placed with user names according to the accuracy of reporting. The ones with more accurate reporting are awarded with good titles and the ones with inaccurate reporting (report spamming) are discouraged with discouraging titles.Astahost admins and moderators, please do something to keep this forum healthy and clean. 8ennett 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 After click this topic to read it I went to read the replies and they were all just spam posts, irony it seems is not without a sense of humour ;)There is only really one active moderator on Xisto which is yordan. I haven't really seen any activity from the others in some time. He is usually very good and comes on at least once a day to go through each new topic and sort the spam from the real stuff however he cannot be a super hero and manage it every single day. When yordan is on the job though not a single spam post gets by him so reporting isn't usually necessary. I'm assuming every single post made is reviewed by yordan even though they are dispalyed immadiately (except the tutorials section of course). The report button is more for reporting posts and topics that violate the terms and conditions of Xisto like plagiarism, racism, and many other types of ism.I know from experience once the spammers have your domain address it is hard to keep them at bay, and the frequency of spam increases constantly. The amount of unethical SEO companies using Xrumer blasts I have had fired from various websites is amazing. Most of the websites being advertised do not have any idea that they are being advertised in such a manner. I used to follow the links and threaten the person on the other end with legal action. That usually resulted in them firing their SEO company and issuing a formal apology. Eventually I moved away from public forum packages and created my own forums with a unique anti-spam method. It is would be possible to break the anti spam with a hell of a lot of Java design and trial and error, but nobody is going to go to the trouble of writing a program specifically for my single forum when there are thousands more vulnerable to Xrumer blasts.
