trinifawk 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2008 Sony has confirmed that PSP users will be able to run Skype on their PSP devices, and make free calls to other skype users and free calls to landline users. The catch is, of course, that you'll have to be in range of a wifi connection to enable this feature. The firmware upgrade is expected to be released in a few weeks time, and will only be for the new psp slim, which was released last year. Does anyone think that this is going to be a good competitor to the iPhone? It certainly has me interested in it. Sony also announced that they will release the Go!Explore GPS device to North American and European customers after a year of Japanese exclusivity. The device will allow PSP owners to use their device to navigate citys and might include some in-game functionality as well. Although Sony hasn't revealed a retail price, the unit is selling for the equivalent of $40 USD in Japan.
xboxrulz1405241485 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2008 Well, last night was sleepless for me, for some unknown reason and am right now very sleepy, but I got work to do, so I'm still awake.Anyways, during the time I couldn't sleep, I was debating with myself if I was ever getting a portable should it be a PSP or a DS, but I think I finally weighed out that I would like a PSP because of the confirmation of Skype and more "powerful" games on the PSP than on the DS.xboxrulz
