vizskywalker 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the advantage of having a VPS over a real system? Is it just advantageous for someone who has a server which is not being used to its full potential? Or is using a VPS better than obtaining a system with the same specs?~Viz
Vyoma 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2007 Good move. Presently I am using a Xisto - Web Hosting 3S account and run 6 website (4 are mine, 2 are my friends). Moving to a VPS plan now would seem like a overkill, but this is an option that we would need to consider in the near future as the traffic increases and demands more bandwidth and CPU power. skedad 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2007 I would have to say that yes that would be a huge advantage. It has been a while since I have done a lot with computers, networks and servers. I would think the only thing to worry about would be traffic, but for a new(er) system setup, that data would be smooth sailing!Good luck with the addition, for it could free up a lot of bandwidth and image how much could be done in the future... I know I am new to the site, but I would like to be able to keep up with this issue, and many others at that.
