Swat 4 is a great game! It is a fantastic (FPS) which includes a Single Player and Multi-player mode. Though the game is all about your computer's hardware and latency, it's not bad to try out if you are confident with your computer. SWAT 4 GOLD (Swat 4 and Swat 4 The Stechkov Syndicate Expansion) costs about 14 Dollars at your nearest Circuit City electronics store. Cheap for a game that I introduce as very good to you? Well, it originally cost around 40 Dollars for each of the 2 games, but somehow Circuit City pulled through. It is a very tactical game which references the police life of recruited SWAT members in the NYPD. Game modes include: Coop, Smash and Grab, Barricaded Suspects (TDM), VIP Escort, and more! I suggest this game, it is a must.

Ah! I loved SWAT 4! I loved single player mostly, just messing around with the fun gadgets and forming strategies to get the bad guys. And it makes me feel especially good when you take down all the terrorists without killing them. Beanbag Shotgun for t3h win! The multiplayer was also fun.Great game. I should find it again, lost beneath piles of other games >.<

One of my best friends bought this game recently and he said some really great things about it. However, the missions he decribed seem quite short without many enemies and the game seems quite tactical. He says the multiplayer is just carnage though...I was wondering, is the single player campaign that fun? It seems really realistic, my friend said that when you are hit in the leg you walk slower and in the hand you can't aim as well. It seems quite unforgiving for mistakes in that regard.I've only heard good things about this game but would you still recomend it like now in 2007?

From what I can remember, it can be hard as hell because the enemies respawn in different places every time you reload the level, so you can't memorize things, and they typically stand in one spot (some patrol though) and as soon as they see you, they start shooting, so Point Man (whoever goes into the room first) usually gets taken out. You get penalized for killing suspects, and the most effective way I've found is shooting their knees, or the non-lethal shotgun... They almost never put down the gun when you ask them to, and flashbangs don't work the way they ought to. It was hard.

If you like simulation style games this is one of the great FPS's on the market in my opinion. It does a fantastic job of taking the SWAT style of police work and converting it into a videogame world. By encouraging players to not only achieve the basic mission goals but also to follow the rules of the SWAT teams and to be careful and tactical in how you behave it adds a new level to the game. Personally I loved SWAT 4 when I played through it and couldn't get enough of it. The versatility of taking multiple routes through missions by choosing different entry points to using different tactics to enter the areas of the stage to even simply the random feel to where enemies are and how many are in each area, the whole game just begs to be played more then once, or at least to try different tactics when missions don't go smoothly on the first try or two.All in all, a great game for anyone that loves FPS's that make you actually think rather then just run and gun.
