mtnbluet 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 Do you have some data that is worthwhile but getting old and musty? Why not pick a Data Visualization method and watch people flock to view it.It is called Infosthetics where the sky is the limit to using your imagination. Some examples are Baby Name Voyageur where you can have fun using a Web 2.0 graph that gives you the popularity of a name depending on the year you choose. With blue streams being boy names and pink streams being girl names a soon-to-be parent would have a lot of fun picking out a new name. Another dynamic source of data visualization is digg labs that produces story titles as bubbles that move around against a black background. These story titles Swarm as a group but the same stories can be found in a Stack of multicolored bars or a BigSpy list of varied font sizes. So data doesn't have to be stodgy anymore, it can be entertaining as well as educational. FirefoxRocks 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 Unless it is statistical or mathematical data, why would we want to make it entertaining as well as educational? To jazz up "textual" data, just add pictures and colorful charts, put them into an XHTML file and view it in the browser. After all, color and free in the digital world ;)Visualizing data can make it confusing for some people and overwhelming.
