miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Guys... you HAVE to try this service and see for youself. It's simply terrific. I'll quote my review on it from ChaosLab. How would you like to be able to create new events in your Google Calendar, write new posts on your blog hosted on Blogger, Typepad or Wordpress or create reminders, to-do's and notes without ever firing up your browser? That too all this through the familiar environment of you favourite Instant Messenger, be it Yahoo!, GTalk or MSN? Look no further cause Imified has brought to you a brand new service that enables you to do the same plus a whole lot more. The service is in open beta now and unlike most such services, if you visit their home page you'll be unable to find any sign-up link. Don't let that confuse you. You don't actually need to sign-up for their service as such. So how do you go about using their service? Simple! You just invite a certain email address / nickname provided by them to join you as a buddy on your favourite instant messenger. In other words you just add Imified as your buddy and all your works done! Read the full feature.
HellFire121 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Damn, that's pretty handy. Especially if you have a slower connection and the pages take a while to load up, even if you're just adding something small. If it even gives reminders for your calendars and stuff like that then i'd be using this thing every day. I'm going to try this now, you'd think that you might need to install a plugin to windows live messenger or something but yeah, pretty amazing.Just added the bot now and it's pretty simple to use, just need to visit a few external pages to setup your account more thoroughly.I can see this service will probably be popular.-HellFire
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Yup.. it's one mother of a handy tool. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.. and using it is so simple once you get adjusted to the IM based interface. Albeit it's a far departure from your standard point & click interface, but considering the fact how fast your job is done, it's well worth it. Anyways, we spend a whole lot of useless key-clicks on talking utter nonsense with out buddies on our IMs - why not devote a couple to getting some actual work done?? Arbitrary 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 That sounds quite nice--that is, for those who use IMs frequently. But I think I'll skip for now. My reasons:1) I don't have an instant messenger. If only they offered something like this from the windows task manager. The windows task manager could be divided into personal tasks and computer tasks. Easier for me since I have that open all the time.1) I used a number of these time-management tools and it just doesn't work for me. I end up spending more time managing my calendar (aka dragging things where they belong when the computer messes up somehow) than actually saving time to do other things. That I find pretty sad. I remember when I first started using Tiddlers, I ended up wasting time figuring out how to work the thing and change the menu--wasted a good half hour. Two days later I downloaded another similar program and started messing again, therefore wasting more time. Saaaad.
