Man Stabbed After Online Argument

Recommended Posts

I got this news from BBC channel. It said that a man in Korea had an online conflict with someone. The second guy got upset over it and eventually stabbed the first guy.

This is pretty serious stuff -the issue of online bullying

The channel gave some guidelines which one should follow while having chat or posting to a reply:

1)No capital letters should be used(considered as shouting and taken as rude behaviour)

2)Even italics, underlined and bold words are best avoided.

3)Jestful and cunning emoticons should not be used.

I will like to know if you all guys have been involved in some sort of online friction,or just what are your views about it ?

It doesn't really matter how you write, as long as you try to be considerate of other people. I used to have heated discussions with people on the internet until I fully understand what I was doing. It is the same as arguing with people in person, except that they can't see you. It has the same effect on people, and people get just as angry. If the particular person that you made angry is motivated enough, they could do just like on the BBC channel and get violent, if they find you.I find it best to not let the discussion get to that point. My personal piece of advice is to not say anything to someone online that you would not say to their face. I have tried to live by this rule and have made alot of friends online. Friends are always better than enemies.

Yup... I totally agree with beatgammit. Some people think that they are totally anonymous on the web but actually, most of the time, they are not. So if it is something that you wouldn't say face to face, then don't say it online.

Try telling that to some of the n00bs I've met. "OMG WTF DU U MEEN NO KAPZ N NO STUF U WUDNT SAY 2 DER FAYS OMFG UR SO RETRDD N GAY N STOND . . ." you get the point. In fact, a lot of people hate me because I get up them for being n00bs (school forums spring to mind).

But you do have a good point there, but seriously, murdering someone because you argued with them in a chatroom? How sad.

Well, yeah. Me and this other guy were in an AIM war over this girl.He could type faster, so he dominated in the AIM part. I'm a beast, so I dominated in the girl part.Seriously.
