Could Postgres Support Be Enabled?

Typo in the name of the title: Postgres not postgrest
I have access to build a postgres database from cpanel, but once I tried to connect to it from php it wasn't enabled. the command

pg_connect()

turned up an unknown function error. PHPInfo (according to tavoxperu) also shows that postgres is not supported.

Is there anyway that support could be enabled for postgres, or at least on my server? Please let me know as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the problem then please refer to this thread.
