I'm pleased with this webhost. It's very basic, php won't work, but I don't have any need for it.
There is plenty of storage space (altough I'm already at 75Mb ) and there's a serious bandwith per day.
The speed is okay, about 200kb/s but response time is about average.
As far as I remember, there's isn't any referrer check, so it might work as a filehost, but you must have at least a main page (you get 7 days to replace the original one, after that, your account will be terminate). I don't know if they check whether you are using it as a webhost or file host, but I'd suggest using it as both.
The control panel is simple (to no surprise). You can see some fairly basic statistics, there's a simple file manager, you can alter some information about the website and you can submit the website to an index.

So, I'm very pleased with it, my jAlbum works perfect and I'm happy

I also noticed how they tried to "hide" the downtime error by aligning it right. I would like it more if it didn't have a feature list that doesn't really explain itself.

I need to agree with cszweb on this one. It says it will allow me to make money, but how? Does it have ad programs that you charge for? Does it have an online shop of some sort? Bandwidth is apparintly the only thing that you would take into account if you wanted to be hosted off of this site (after all without php few sites on the web would exist).

This sounds like a decent host, but the only downside (in my eyes) is the PHP. A lot of people need PHP for PHP includes, so that they don't have to go back over each page to edit minor changes, or a layout change. Thanks for the link, anyway.

Cabspace is now back on line after lots of problems. All of your site should be there to with your web site how it was after the date loss.

But the truth is this:

cabspace had been down for 72 days straight. After a little less than 24 hours of up time they again went down and remain down since May 26th. The question is , why does this clown keep advertising a web hosting service that is not on line?

I would say it is a great host for somebody having a small website that doesn't use complex things like php, and a lot of traffic, because 1 gig of bandwidth a day is really awesome. I currently only have 512megs bandwidth per month on my Xisto account.I'm not sure now though because like everybody have said, there is a lot of downtime and is basically not there anymore.

The HD crashed, and before the RAID could create a new copy, the RAID ate

itself. We have been 3 weeks recreating a copy of the data. It is completed, but

during the time our system administrator took a different job and we have no way

to bring the service back online. We are attempting to train on a new sysadmin,

but it is a slow and steady process.

 

We provided you with a completely free service. We have had a very unfortunate

string of bad luck on the service, and are still actively trying to get it back

online. As soon as we can, we will get it back online providing web services

again. Until then, we are trying to catch up on our existing backlog of

service.

So cabspace will be back bit it will take time. Yes that was a huge pain in the

neck! Also yesterday we blew a couple critical drives, however, this time we

were able to rebuilt the array with minimal downtime. We have some growing

pains, but we're matching each challenge with proactive solutions that should

permanently improve the quality of our service. Thanks for sticking with us thru

this rather shakey period of extreme growth. Look for exciting news and improved

features shortly!

Cabspace will be back up in the next week or so we hope this will stop all the

*****ing we see on this forum and others. We would like to thank the mods and

the admins of this forum for controlling most of cabspace users that could not

get over the problems we had. I will repost when we are back up and running and

in order. Hope this helps most of your users and cabspace users.Sorry we did not

post on the cabspace user name we have. But the old system administrator is the

only one that has the password.

We had several short periods of downtime when we were migrating our data over to

a larger storage system. This was not planned downtime.We have revised our

future plans to include failover connections should these types of problems

occur again during upgrades.

Cabspace.com is our current server for hosting our website. Ive searched google

and other search engine about news about them. It seems they wont go operational

again. Its time to move our pages into a new server.

Their services seem as bad as Freewebs.But after reading the above post, I think I may have found something WORSE than freewebs. You wouldn't think finding something worse than freewebs is possible really, until u get to cabspace <_<They have like nothing really good in the range of features and they cant even admit they have closed down (probably closed because they ran out of money or something).
