soleimanian 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2006 How to disable or change the "find in page" sound in Mozilla FireFox Just as you know,by pressing Ctrl-F, the find bar appears at the bottom of the Firefox Window, you can disable or change the "find in page" sound. 1- run Mozilla FireFox and type “about:config” (without quotes ) in the address bar and press ENTER to open Mozilla FireFox configuration. 2- Type” typeahead” (without quotes ) in the filter field to filter options 3- To disable this ability, double-click on “accessibility.typeaheadfind.enablesound “option to disable it. The line will turn bold , it mean that the settings is no longer the default one. And the value will set to false. 4- To change the sound, double-click on the “accessibility.typeaheadfind.soundURL “ option and enter the location of your favor sound file, for example: file:///C:/windows/media/Windows XP Ding.wave 5- restart Mozilla FireFox to take effect the changes
FirefoxRocks 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2008 This is a good tutorial but I use Find quite often and with or without iTunes playing music, the sound is barely noticeable so it isn't a big deal. I've been using Firefox 1.5 to Firefox 3 now with Find quite often and in fact, the sound is not really noticeable at all.
