Recommended Posts

You can get a free dot BE domain at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Hurry if you wanna register one, it's only free until 31 january 2006. One note: it's 100% free for the first year, after that you have to pay or just take another domain. BTW: the site is in dutch, if you need help, just PM me.

That is a good discusstion! I didnt know that there are so many websites who are giving away domains for free!I recently came to know about one of such website...http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is a new forum and offers INFO/COM/NET/ORG domains for free and that too without any ADS. They require posting in the forum but have a really good point system..due to which earning points is very easy.They are fairly new so they dont have many topics or you may say sections...but they do have interesting information over there.I've got a domain recently and I'll be launching my website soon!The website is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and this you can go and register over there.if you wish to help me then while signing up you can put the refferal name as "mayank" (sans quotes)

I really restrain myself from looking out for companies that give out free domain names. I mean, one has to think at how they would do buisness. What their buisness model is>That to speak, I was wary at joining Asta Host itself. Why would a company give of hosting service for free and that too without any ads? It took me some time to understand the buisness model, and I joined up.I have not yet created my website, and am yet to think if it is worth registering a domain for it.

Hahaha~ i have been founding free domain name for a long time. There is no such thing ~. You must pay for domain name unless u switch looking for subdomain. then it would be free.

anyway, u can try looking a good webhost at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. It offers information for the webhost. Those information is really useful.

At http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ you can register domains like domain.de.vu, .de.**, and far more weird endings :D
If you just want a domain, to have a domain :D, instead of long paths in the URL this site is super! i like and I use it ;)
But when you register a domain you normaly get a banner or something, but that can be turned off in the configuration of your domain at nic.de.vu

I've tried free domains name before. Their offers are really misleading, coming from metaReward. If you want to complete offers, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is my recommendation. But if you just want to post, go for the previously mentioned http://www.findingresult.com/?dn=hostbidder.com&pid=9POR3TG0A. I'd recommend paying for your domain. It's not that expensive in https://de.godaddy.com/ and there's nothing free that beats paid.

Seems like they went out of business for good... lol.. I was browsing Xisto and came upon this discussion regarding the sudden demise of realwebtalk. The thread can be found here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/31855-topic/

And then I checked up with their site - it just turns up entirely blank. No content. All it has is this 4-5 line of HTML code.

<html>
<head>
<title></title>
</head>

<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

</body>

</html>

It seems to be that HostBidder.com is the only free domain name provider with enough creditibility to register with. But I have a question, to which I couldn't find an answer, even though I looked far and wide in the Website.

My question is this: when I register with HostBidder.com, what will the owner information be in the NIC database, mine or theirs?

I mean, you domain name is practically the trademark of your site. You simply can't let another own your trademark, even if it means you'll get to use it for free.

I wish someone can help out here; it'd be greatly appreciated. :-)

The owner of the domain will be YOU. That sound great, right? You can set all contact information. When you do the whois lookup. The domain will display as your property :D . But HostBidder also has some limit. They give out 30 domain/month. Anway, you needn't worry about that. Last month, there were just 8 domain request. Earning point is very easy also. You can finish it within 2 week. (95 good posts at technical forum).

Thanks a lot, PureHeart. Indeed, it does sound great :D. Actually, I posted the question earlier than should, because as soon as I subscribed at their forum and read a couple of posts, the answer was somewhat clear, but your post has assured me that I understood correctly. Thank you! :D

Are you sure that it would be easy to earn good points within two weeks?

I mean, if I have read it right, I can only post about 10 posts every day. So, for two weeks it makes 14x10 = 140. How much do they give points for each post? Is it not 1 point for one post? May be I have to go and read it again.

Well, not really 1. It ranges actually between fractions (at times) and 10, depending mostly on the section you're posting in and to a lesser extent, the length of the post.
