James_K 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 I've been looking around for parts to build a barebone fragbox I was almost ready to build it using a 7800 then I noticed that the 1800 has been relased being a fan of nethier (i'm neutral ) since their about the same price over here I'm not sure which one to get So what is your opinion? vizskywalker 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 I am going to give you a reason to go with the NVIDIA that may or may not be listed on the chart. In my experience (which has recently been increased dramatically via an influx of old computers) NVIDIA cards hold up wear and tear wise and last longer in Desktops, ATI cards in laptops. Since a fragbox is a desktop, go with the 7800. That's actually the easy part, the hard part is going to be picking a 7800GTX w/ 512MB from a manufacturer, I'm partial to PNY.~Viz Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
