I do not think applying the death penalty is ever morally justifiable as a form of social justice. I think life in prison should be used, and meant, in cases that some would argue deserves the death penalty. Ultimately however I feel that prison is used all too frequently when other methods could be used that would be more successful in rehabilitating and preventing repeat offenders.
