Brian1405241474 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2005  Rumor or not I heard that Steve Jobs showed a Mac OS (Tiger?) during the MacWorld convention using a regular desktop PC. My co-workers were actually talking about this today too That "Intel" Mac OS is a fake from what I gather. So I'm not wasting my time getting it. 1064319930[/snapback] Steve had OS X running on an Intel based Macintosh, not "a regular PC". People have had a lot to say about choosing a Mac. From what you've said, I think any Mac would work for you. The cheapest is the Mac mini, then the eMac. Both would work for what you wanted. Don't even both with pre-OS X. If you're buying a computer I would say get one with at least 10.3, 10.4 would be the best. At least 512 MB of RAM is good. The Mac mini (as well as the iBooks) now come standard with 512 MB of RAM.
