Comparison -> Freebsd Vs. Linux Vs. Windows 2000

Recommended Posts

The Microsoft FAT filesystem and the newer NTFS are both plagued by over 15 years of backwards compatability

Haha... Its kinda funny how there are guys at Redmond who still have to make sure that the glitches with the old versions of Windows are still included in the new versions. In my opinion, they should just take a leaf out of Apple's book and warn people for a few years not to include it in their software and then, as was the case with OSX, remove that functionality. Sure it may piss of all those software companies and the users of that software, but surely it make the operating system so much better. Wouldn't it?
