whistle 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 The very first time I bought my first domain from register.com, I was so excited. With the poor funtionalites, I had to built my own domain server at home. After a painful study, finally I could add A name or C name of my domain. What's the next? Because I used cable model, my ip changed very often. I had to update my ip very often, too. I couldn't update it anywhere and anytime, and I had no idea about the dynamic DNS. Finally, I gave up.Then I understood the service from who sells you the domain is very important. But it changes after I find the DNS hosting provided by dnspark.com. Of course, it provides all basic DNS functionalities with A name, C name, ..., and so forth. Moreover, url forwarding, email forwarding, and dynamic DNS are included also. The limitation of this service is 200,000 query and 2 domain only. If anyone has the same problem like me, you can enjoy it.
whistle 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 Can anyone share other good dns hosting? I hope to know more.Another good dns hosting I found is ZoneEdit.com. The provides all functionalities of your first level domain. It is like the dnspark.com.First 5 domains added with under 200MB usage are free. They say that 200MB usage could be 1 million DNS queries. It should be enough to match the need of the most people.
whistle 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Finally, I found the best DNS hosting provider I've ever found. The mydomain.com provides all functionalies of DNS except the dynamic dns. Many DNS hosting can provide you to create a subdomain. The subdomain can be pointed to an IP address, a domain, a mail server or a URL. But most of the DNS hosting rarely let you DNS hosting your subdomain. That is, mydomain.com can let you create many domains. Each of them can be dns hosted on mydomain.com or other dns hosting provider. Therefore, if you have many webhosting account, you can give each a subdomain. As mentioned above, mydomain.com does not provide the ddns (dynamic dns). That's Ok. Just create a subdomain and host it on another dns hosting provider with ddns, like dnspark.com or ZoneEdit.com. This problem can be easily resolved. With the ability to share your subdomain, your domain will be more worthy.
