OpaQue posted an article right on this topic a few days back. Check it out first and see if it answers your queries.
Find it here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/85030-topic/?findpost=1064311206

Secondly, Nils had written some excellent articles on Robots.txt - search for that term on this board and you'll come up with those articles. Read them thoroughly and you'll get a good grasp of what to do and not to do with robots.txt.

Where will I search it? Xisto or at Xisto? Also, the article that you recommended does not answer my questions. Is there a blocker for evil robots? Something like an .htaccess file?

Well, to block them, I found this site:

http://www.robotstxt.org/orig.html

The Robots META tagThe Robots META tag allows HTML authors to indicate to visiting robots if a document may be indexed, or used to harvest more links. No server administrator action is required.

Note that currently only a few robots implement this.

In this simple example:

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">

a robot should neither index this document, nor analyse it for links.
