I bought a P4 3.2/512 with an ATI 9600Radeon a couple of month ago, updated the drivers from the ati website and just got massive problems with the gfx. So i bought a Nvidia Gforce 4 128 MB and everything is running super smooth. I think that nvidia is getting there thinks better together than ati. (just my opinion)

ATI Radeon graphics cards usually have a more compact cooling solution, while nVidia does not (some of them even cover up an extra PCI slot). Seeing that I like my PC to be cool, quiet and tidy, that is a big bonus for me.Anyway, I never had any problems with the drivers, and according to the PC World magazine benchmark tests, Ati Radeon cards are a bit faster than nVidia cards.So... ATI is my choice...

If you want to be getting bang for buck, then ATi is a whole lot better. On the other hand, ATi drivers don't support OpenGL that well, and their linux drivers are very poor, too. That said, I still love my Radeon stuff, and probably would never buy an NVidia card unless it was shown to perform a whole lot better.

I prefer ATI cards for gaming... but sometimes nVidia is better... I'll waiting for the next generation ATI card... R520... So my Radeon 9700pro can have a break

Well personally i have used both, but now both of my computers run on ATI graphics cards. One is a Gigabyte Radeon 9600XT and the other is a Asus Radeon 9200SE and they are both ATI and so far so good.

Both companies are doing pretty good, except Nvidia fell behind a little when it acquired the "tainted" ( ) engineers from 3dfx (which turned Nvidia boards to crazy gasoline... I mean power hungry demon mosters).I use ATI, since I don't have a choice (its in my laptop). But its very impressive, 2 year old mobility 9600 and still runs everything perfectly.Right now if I had to buy a gfx card, I would probably go with the Nvidia GF6600GT though. Otherwise I'm not gonna vote, because as I said, both make great cards and I'm pretty much on neutral sides with both companies.
