BabyTux 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Two ways: 1. Start -> Run... -> msconfig Click the last tab to see a list of startup items. 2. Start -> Run... -> regedit Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. In the right pane you'll see what will start with your system.
nakulgupta 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 The first method is always better than the second,1. It's safer that messing with the registry2. It's easier to read the program names as well as locations and even easier to disable them.

VJgamer1405241488 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 I think this is what you were looking for... The easiest way to edit Startup Programs is with a program from http://www.mlin.net/. It is called Startup Control Panel. There are two versions, a Stand Alone EXE, and a version that puts an icon in your control panel. This program shows you the four different ways programs start on your computer (Registry User, Folder User, Registry All, Folder All) and it also shows the names, command line, and a very useful icon of the program. This is a very easy interface to use, and I suggest it highly! ~Tim
PC Astray 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Try running services.msc to disable some services that don't appear in msconfig like AntiVir Update or whatsoever. Disabling services and hardware such as USB ports via the Device Manager which is accessible from Control Panel you won't need also speeds up your boot.
