saxsux 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Google's brilliant new Google Local and Maps are now available here in the UK (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/preview?source=newuser-ws https://www.google.co.uk/maps/!! When I saw Google Local & Maps, I thought it was great. It was American, but what can you expect from an America based company? musichere 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 This is very useful but it still doesn't compare featurewise with the many many mapping softwares that are already avaliable everywhere, it doesn't even compare to the many mapping websites that already exist and have much greater features. Nevertheless people will continue to use Google's service becuase of the name. This is one of the reasons I hate about Google's sudden surge of popularity, they will become too strong and monopolise the market for areas such as Mapping, which actually they have nothing to do with. harriko 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2005 wow1 i dint know they had the uk version of the maps and locals! might use it to find new things or places in my area that i dont know about.saxsux - said there was a google sms feature aswell! i thought this was in beta version in the US? now its in the UK?! i would like to se if it really works but i have zero credit for a few months now.... oh wells...
