Qop 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 Yes, recently Hitachi presented it's new humabot -> a friendly-looking robot with a nurse-outfit caled 'EMIEW'. EMIEW is short for excellent mobility and interactive existence as workmate (remember; Japanese ppl built this robot no offense ). It has sensors in it's head, waist and wheels, thereby avoiding hitting something. It knows about 100 words, so it's able to follow a few commands. Hitachi built two prototypes called Pal and Chum. They will be presented at the worldexpo in Aichi. There is nothing known yet about the price of this thing (but trust me, it won't be pretty )
Yamato 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Wow... those are a little creepy looking. It looks like my washer, except with a face.I'd rather just make my brother do things for me, thank you very much. That is still pretty neat, though.
