No Mp3? =(

Hi there.Well... as I said on the registration, I will use this webspace for my band's website, but I was planning to put some mp3. Can I do it?Ehh... I forgot about something else.It says the web must be in english, but... can I make it on english and spanish? it would be two exact versions of the website, but one in english and one in spanish.Please please please please... I have been looking for a free webhost like this for months... please, make me that favor.Thanks.--------------------------------Consecutive posts merged.

Hi,

As long as those mp3's do not violate any copyrights and are authentic compositions by you/your band - I don't see a reason why you can't put them up. Always remember that Xisto has a high Google ranking and that is solely because we all strive to keep this board as clean as possible and adherent to all the legal intricacies Anyway, as I said - as long as those mp3's are original works you won't have problem putting them up - though you might want to get a upgrade (if you haven't done it already) account - so you have a lot more disk space to accomodate your mp3's.

 

Also the site can be in English & Spannish - both. That isn't a problem at all.

Hmm wait...Isn't the mp3 encoding algorithm a licensed thingy? You might want to sort out if the mp3-encoding-technique is licensed, because else you could use the Ogg Vorbis format which is opensource and gives much better quality/size ratio.

I will upgrade my account, when I have enough hosting credits.jipman: I don't think mp3 is licensed, but anyway, it's way more universal. In my country there must be no more than 10 people who know Ogg o_O so I'll just stick wieh mp3.Thanks to both of you.
