Best Free Mmorpg Out There

Recommended Posts

Have you tried out Project Entropia ?? The basic version is free, i.e. you can play through the whole world without having to pay anything. In fact you can even win real world money by exchanging the game currency for dollars. On the other hand you can also invest real currency and get them converted to the game currency in order to buy more equipment/accessories. I've been dying to play it - I got myself registered and downloaded the client as well - but bad luck on my part - it just refuses to connect over my slow dialup line. Dunno why though - coz their site clearly stated that you CAN play it over dialup... :D

Speaking of RO private servers do look into http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
It has neat server listings and info if you are interested.

If you are strapped for cash and are looking for MMO type gameplay another alternative would be Guild Wars. It is beta now but it delevers a MMO like experience without the monthly fee.

As for true MMOs I believe anarchy is running a promotion (or at least WAS runnign a promotion) where you can DL the game via BitTorrent legally through them and get a year of the basic game free along with chances at free copies of the expansions if you choose to upgrade and switch to subscription.

Aside formt eh two above there is a good number of korean beta type games worth looking into the Multi-Player Online Gaming Directory ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) because they have news on all online games and info on how to get into betas, trials and the like. (along with some neat browser base games that canr eally kill A LOT of time)

I myself am a MMORPG fan. I especially like those which are very complicated and keeps you busy. Not those which makes you bored after awhile.I would recommend either Guild wars or Roseon. Pristontale would be a good choice too but you only get to play till level 39 then you will have to pay. Guildwars is very focused on their 3D animation and design. I can tell they worked very hard on the models. For Roseon...well it IS created by Gravity which also made Ragnarok so i guess it SHOULD be good. :D For Pristontale finally, it used to be in Beta. But now i think they just went out of beta and is going commercialised.

I completely agree with you, the long wait for Guild Wars is going to be worth it. Yes you have to pay most likely 60$ to buy it, but it isn't going to be P2P so it's all good. I played Maple Story as well.. that was.. alright I guess. The graphics were too cartooni like Gunbound or something. Recently I've been played Risk Your Life for a long time before it finally went P2P with the update to RYL2 from Korea. But yea, wait for GW, its gonna be worth it. Or just go by a Sony PSP and have fun with that, I'm getting mine tonight :)

IMO Guildwars is the best FREE MMO out there, though you really can't compare it to paid MMO's like WoW and what not.

GW isn't totally free, you must buy the client and then there isn't a monthly fee to play. If your really interested in it and have a mic for your computer go to Team Speak website, download the client. The reason for this is that alot of people that play GW use Teamspeak for VoIP chat, and then click on the banner in my sig, this will bring you to the Guild Site I have for my guild and then click on the Whos on our TS link and then click on the Public channel to get into our Teamspeak server. Oh and get the game client, cost about $50 USD. I can help ya get into the game and hook ya up with some good players. Whether or not you want to join my guild I'll help ya out with the game as you need it.

The best MMORPG ever is Everquest.

and then after 30 days you have to pay a monthly fee, but let me tell you

something. It is one of the best things I have EVER paid for. The people that play are nice

and there is a great help staff. Not only that, but you can team up, join guilds, get

legendary items, trade, and more. Totally worth the money!

If you have lots of patience and time, I would suggest the MMORPG called Runescape. It is very interesting, and the best part is that it is free unless you want to pay! Becoming the best may take 2+ years for even just the free version of it, and the payed version of it takes even longer. Now, you may think that is negative, but it isn't. You get more than x4 the amount of quests, and you have +6 skills free players don't have. The economy is also balanced very well and if you are desperate for real-world money, you can sell the money you make on there for $5.50-$20.00 US dollars per million coins. It's grapchis arent 2D paper cutouts either. They have a huge graphics team always designing something bigger and better. So, I guess Runescape Runescape is my suggestion.

I would highly suggest R.O.S.E Online. It's a very very good game with tons of very nice graphics and the liking. I can't explain how good it is.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ that, or GunZ. I prefer ROSE over anything though.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I have to disagree, Xcl. Runescape is .. blah. I suppose it's decent if you have a crappy computer/internet but come on! It's laggy and repetitive, not to mention pretty easy to level. It's a boring ole hack an' slash. I suggest Guild Wars or Ragnarok - like someone said, if you find a private server. They're both very good and very fun.

You should try Runescape.com i think its pretty cool because there is alot to do and it will never stop, theres always more to do even on the free worlds, then when you go into the paid worlds ($5 a month) theres even more to do! i guarentee you wont completely finish this game in your lifetime
