After 1 Week I Give Up

Recommended Posts

tried making my website so hard for me it was. Ftp and webhosting is a doddle compared to the making.Well first i used word, and that was quite easy, but just didnt look to good,so i tried netfusion, whii have a 30 day trial, and after spending 1 week i gave up.it was so cmplicated for me (who is not particulary talented). the program seemed to constantly change things and it would never look the same, the amount of times i restarted from scratch....well i have given up now after developing some RSI in my right arm, and found photoshop to make my sight in about 5mins (once i had established what was written).the only problem is i had to generate the text as a jpeg, so it doesnt look too sharp.well if i get to 10 posts i might be able to show you so you can all laugh ;)chris

Chris1234,I moved your post here. Since it's not a tutorial it shouldn't be in the tutorial forum ;)Do a search on the different free HTML and webdesign programs listed here in this forum and you'll find a lot of tips and tricks. ;)I'm using 1'st page 2000 and EditPadLite for a lot of my work. (I'm new at webdesigning also), There is a lot of tutorials out there to help you when you get stuck. Google is very good when it comes to find solutions and tutorials.Nils

lol, what you probably need the most right now is a bit of patience. ONe week isn't enough for anyone to "master" this. It takes time and patience and in time it will eventually come around ^_^

thankyou for moving my post, sorry for puting it in the worng place.I dont really fing search engnes that useful they come up with all ads and stuff all the time and not much of use. Anyway a simple page is ok, but when you want to tart adding photos and little boxes and stuff it get s bit complicated. Some of the web design packages are sold on being so easy to use and for something basic they are (perhaps?) but if you want to do a little more they are not so good.I will maybe see if i can try page 2000 out for a bit and see if i fair better.thanks for yourhelpchris

doesnt matter maybe you should have breaks between them. not making them all in one go!. i learnt html from the free program first page 2000. every change you do it refreshes automatically, rather than me editing in notepad, saving, and refreshing the browser each time.!

Don't give up. Everyone have to start somewhere. I have put up my project here:
Lindy Farms of CT (Forget the big spelling error) ;)
And now I'm testing different pieces of php program pieces. It's not pretty, but when it works I'm one step further. I have small stuff like this.
Test to see if browser is IE
And
another test
and
array

It's nothing useful but it helps me understad what each pice of code does and how it shows up on the web.

Take your time, go baby steps. read tutorials. Create "Hello World" and join the ranks of people who put that line on the web as their first piece of code.

Remember Rome was not built in a day ;)

First I think you should plan out how you want it to look on a piece of paper, then, using notepad and html/css, you can easily do it step-by-step. then you shouldn't run into any problems except "I don't know how to do this". And then you can easily find out later, just skip it for then!
